I was looking into buying a trimmer since forever. Was looking at other brands and reviews but everything kept leading me back to Milwaukee. Their tools might be on the pricey side but honestly they are worth every single penny put into them. You will not be disappointed with this trimmer at all. I’ve used other trimmers none come close to the force this one has. You can count on it to get the job done through very thick brush. Amazing like all Milwaukee tools.

Milwaukee has always made good tools and seldom anything that is less than the normal quality. I had a plug in hedge trimmer and got tire of dragging a cord around and didn't want to spend the money on a gas version. The tool works well and paired with an 8.0 battery it seems to last quit a while. Speaking about batteries, if you factor the cost of the tool $199 (tool only) then you need a charger and battery that would run the tool well and you're looking at a cost of $500!! To me that seems very expensive and the tool won't outlast a gas powered version for the average cost of $450-500. However, if you're looking for a quiet tool for personal yard care this tool is perfect! I have noticed after two uses that the finish at the end of the blade guide is flaking off but doesn't affect the tools performance. One feature I'm not fond of is the ergonomic placement of the safety button you need to push to make the throttle work. It feels comfortable to push and squeeze the throttle when using the tool flat but not at all while changing the cutting position of the tool. I found that with average (size large) hands I would need to adjust my hold on the tool in order to get it to function. Aside from the price point and the safety button placement I love the tool and would recommend this tool.

In a matter of 30 mins i cut down 6 bushes, just amazing how well this bush trimmer cuts! I will say like other reviews, let the trimmer do the work, don’t force it!

The trimmer works great. Bought so I wouldn’t have drag out the extension cord for my electric one which is a 100’ plus a 25’ 12 gauge cord. Well worth the money, cuts very well and yes it a bit heavy, but so are the cordless drills. I been using the 5.0 battery and haven’t ran out of a charge yet. It

Wanted a cordless hedge trimmer for the longest time, got a M18 5.0 XC battery it will last to complete. Did 3hrs trimming bushes and 2 trees and knocked down knee length weeds. Hedge trimmer is a bit heavy side but felt secure and strong cutting power. I look forward next year trimming again. Lol

I was extremely hesitant to get a battery powered trimmer but after use it for the 4th I will 100% recommend it Ofcourse it would make even more sense if you are a Milwaukee guy already either way 5 starts for this trimmers

I have had two of the same models and they both have failed at the point where battery connects to contacts and contact module is loose and creates a melting point at contacts/ battery terminals due to vibratiothen oil n , would suggest securing contact block for zero movement and

Use it for edger but not weed trimmer. The quick load string trimmer head has a bump cap that will fail in just a few months and Milwaukee has gone the garbage route of not selling the 2$ cap. Instead they tell you to purchase a new head at 40$+. Pretty pathetic for a company that usually has good customer service but it looks like they are going to way of all other companies and just don’t care about their customers anymore. Was told echomatic pro head. pn21560031 fits and lasts.

I own several Milwaukee power tools and have been happy with their performance. I decided to purchase the brushless string trimmer instead of a gas weed eater because I already owned multiple batteries. VERY disappointed after several months of ownership, the trimmer will run for a few minutes, overheat and stop; head has also worn out after only a few months, common issues! Glad I didn't invest in the other attachments as I was planning on doing.

I have seen everyone recommending a 9ah or a 5ah battery, but I was able to use this trimmer with my M18 1.5ah battery from another tool kit for 2hrs. It still cut through 3/4" limbs with no problem. Overall it's a great tool that's built to last and will cut through almost anything.

The battery terminal is melting after a month of light use. Milwaukee didn't do much testing on this one.

I’ve had this just over a year and used it 12 times. As you can see part of the head wore off in no time. Not covered under the warranty apparently and also you have to replace the whole head instead of the plastic clip on cover. Extremely disappointed considering I bought this with all the other attachments

Bought this to use around the property, battery life was terrible 15-20 min max. On its 3rd or 4th charge the battery wouldn’t come off the weedwacker. Once I got it off the battery looks to have melted. To make this worse I tossed the reciept and Home Depot won’t return so I’m stuck with a $300 piece of trash.

Over the past 6 months, I purchased the weed whacker, leaf blower, hedge trimmer, 2 chainsaws, polesaw kit with (2) 12.0 & (2) 8.0 batteries and chargers. The weed whacker and leaf blowers draw so much power from the batteries, they are melting the contacts on the batteries. The amp draw on the weed whacker also over heats and shuts it down. Great for small jobs, but for the amount I paid, I want to be able to do more than just trim the edges of the driveway. $500 worth of batteries shot.

I'm a plumber and am already invested in 3,000 dollars worth of tools, so it was a no-brainer when it came to battery powered hedge clippers. For the price of the bare tool I was off and running when I popped in my high output 12.0. my bushes outsider of my home have not been taken care of in a while but this tool cut through them in about 2 hours and only drained 2 bars of battery life. Yet another great tool from this company. The only thing I would mention to a new buyer of Milwaukee tools is with durability comes weight. Other than that you will not find a better product out there than Milwaukee products

I run this with an 8 amp HO battery and can easily get 2 hours run time out it. Its a touch on the heavy side if ur bending over a lot but that 24 inch bar is great! Def recommend this one from milwaukee! Worth every penny

This tool is the Boss! I was scepticle but it proved me wrong. I even used a 2.0 amp battery. I loved so much i went and bought the blower and weed trimmer. Try it, you wont be dissapointed.

Awesome hedge trimmer!!! Plenty of power at hand and the ability to cut 3/4 inch wood!!! Lightweight and a 24 inch blade length makes this my new most favorite trimmer ever!!! Cut my Holly Monster, no problems!!! Great tool. Batteries are expensive but worth it. Mike with Monster Holly Hedge

JUST WISH IT SHIPPED WITH SMALL BOTTLE OF CHAIN OIL AND HEDGE TRIMMER LIGHT WEIGHT OIL. The pictures say it all. What is used to look like. To what it looks like after my new Milwaukee edger got a hold of it. Still have not tried the string trimmer, pole saw or the hedge trimmers. Do to, now having too go back to the store to buy some. I ordered this set online. Not thinking about needing oils. Being most items in the past have come with a starter bottle. I did purchase the blower separately and that was Nice and Light. I did also purchase a hight output 3.0 ahu extra battery as a back up. And to use with the pole saw.

I've been wanting to get rid of my old gas-powered trimmer because it was a hassle to use, you know, mixing oil and gas, fuel stabilizer, carb adjustments, the noise, the fumes, etc... I went on the cheap and bought one from the orange brand (no, not Ridgid, the other one), and came to regret it quickly. So here I am with this Milwaukee trimmer now and I will say it is not a cheaply made tool. In fact, it looks and feels like it will last a lifetime, albeit with a few drawbacks, chiefly that it is a very HEAVY tool, and expensive. Even my old gas-powered one was not this heavy, which makes it hard to recommend to anyone other than those who are into Milwaukee tools or have already invested in the M18 ecosystem and want to keep battery chargers to a minimum while moving away from gas and into battery tools. To use this tool you really need to be strong because even after only 20 minutes of use you start to feel its weight. Luckily, 20 minutes is about all I need to get the entire yard trimmed with this beast. It powers through hedges and bushes effortlessly and it has a great ergonomic design that allows you to quickly change angles or direction. If it was lighter it would be delightful to use. Battery life from the included 9.0 AH High Demand battery is stellar. 20 minutes of nonstop use and not even a single bar went down on the Fuel indicator. I might even try it with one of my smaller M18 batteries and see how it does. If nothing else, I figure it will at least make it a bit lighter. All in all, I recommend it but only if you think you'll be able to handle the weight for extended periods of time. I believe it comes in at 12 lbs with the battery, so keep that in mind before you spend almost two hundos on it. And if you don't already own a few other Milwaukee M18 tools, I'd seriously consider other options first that may be lighter or less expensive than this one.

Milwaukee does it again, perfect, no gas, not loud, and plenty of power! Replaced my 20 year old gas trimmer, this was the way to go!

The trimmer exceeded expectations. Was very hesitant in buying it due to the price, but after biting the bullet and getting it, I will never go back to a gas powered trimmer ever again. No hassle, string loads easy breezy, quiet, battery life so far barely uses 1/4 of life on my whole yard that requires a good bit of trimming and edging. broke down and decided to get the edger and hedge trimmer attachments. If they work anything like the string trimmer, my yard will be the easiest its ever been. Now I just need Milwaukee to come out with an electric ride on lawn mower!

In turtle mode it works really well, saves the battery and is strong enough to cut normal trimming. In Rabbit mode it is more powerful than my high end gas trimmers. I have gotten rid of my gas trimmer because this one is so much better. One battery will last for my entire house and the second battery will cover everything else.

Excellent tool works great

This thing is awesome, have used similar products in the past, both corded and cordless and this has both reach and cutting power far above the rest, the only thing close to comparison is a gas Stihl hedge trimmer, but at half the cost.

Both tools work great. The hedge trimmer is heavier than my old corded electric, but I figure it would be lighter than an equivalent gas powered version. Very easy to quickly change between batteries. String trimmer is super quiet.

Been holding off making this purchase for over a year. Finally bit the bullet and bought it. Blown away. Handles all the trimming around the yard and enough juice left over to edge around the driveway and street frontage. Even more impressed with the line that comes with the tool. Holds up great.
