Exactly what I was looking for and very well built. Definitely a must have and makes my garage a lot tidy.

Originally bought a 4x8’ about 5 yrs as I have a high garage ceiling (14’). It’s held up well and as my storage needs expanded, I’d been looking for another one for several years but they’ve been out of stock everywhere. Was ready to go with a different brand but saw these become available again and on sale as well so I picked up another one. Very happy with both now as it’s great to get misc stuff off the ground and make the garage so much neater.

Definitely a two person installation!!!! But now that it's in worth every penny at twice the price!!!

I put these up myself and it was so easy by the 3rd one o could put it together by myself... although I don't recommend it a helper buddy is a good idea. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. The materials are good quality...this this is sturdy. My advice to you is do not fully tighten the nuts just lightly snug them up and once you get it all out together then go back and tighten all the nuts.

NOT SUITED FOR MODERN CONSTRUCTION HOME GARAGES - It does say it is "designed to be installed into wood joists only and NOT to steel joists". However, nowhere in the description does it say it is NOT to be installed to engineered wood joists (which is a large percentage of new-ish homes these days). As soon as I opened it and gave a glance at the manual, I see the last page that clearly and emphatically addresses modifications to be made to engineered ceiling joists should you decide to proceed with installation. Even if my garage ceiling was not drywalled, modifications would take tons of labor, materials, time and quite possibly a construction professional to perform. Adding the fact that it is drywalled, this includes cutting, removing, replacing, patching and painting ceiling PRIOR to installation. At first I thought to ignore these warnings but after doing a little more research, I did learn it is really a big risk to install it without modifying the ceiling structure as those "I" beams are not engineered to hold weight pulling from below. Went to the all-mighty and savvy internet looking for answers and could not find anyone recommending installing to engineered joists in a safer or easier way than described in manual. Therefore, after spending the $170 + shipping + borrowed truck to pick up, it will take much more than that to have it installed. I can only hope that everyone here that installed it is aware of the safety hazard this represents and that they did their due diligence in double checking theirs was solid wood joists. Mine is going back to the store. HOME DEPOT: Please try to add that description to item title so people know what they're getting into. Something like "NOT FOR ENGINEERED JOIST - CONFIRM YOUR TYPE OF CONSTRUCTION BEFORE PURCHASING AND/OR INSTALLING" would have been be very helpful.

I think the rack is of fairly good quality. The biggest downside is that the mounting points are non-adjustable, meaning that if they don't line up pretty much perfect with your ceiling joists, it is an issue. Because my garage is fully sheetrocked (including ceiling) and there is no way to easily access the joists from the attic space there to add a cross joist, I couldn't mount this the way it's supposed to be mounted. So I had to MacGuver it. For a rack designed to handle a good amount of weight, this took careful planning and measuring, and purchasing some hearty Spax screws (I used 5/16" 4 inch lag screws) to mount it into the wall studs. While I'm satisfied with the end result, it took a lot of effort. Refer to pics. This product would be much better if the mounting points were slightly adjustable, like being able to go a few inches either way, for when it doesn't line up perfectly.

So the rafters in my garage are 16 inches apart. Well i was forced to either go with a length of 64, 80, or 96 inches. Well the bottom frame would not allow me to go 80 inches like it says. (It says something like adjudtable, “72-96”). Well i had to buy other materials and improvise to accomidate the length that i needed. Before you buy this i recommend that you check the length of your rafters. I saw a similar product which would have more precise for my needs.

The storage shelves are the perfect solution to free up floorspace in my garage. it is well made, easily assembled and easy to install.

My wife loves it. The rack is easy to install once you find the center of the support beams.

This is a great rack for adding storage to the dead space above your garage door. You want to make sure when installing in this area that you bring it forward enough to clear the apex of the garage door when it opens up. Get a ladder and observe from the side track above the door when opening it and see where the edge reaches it's apex and just move forward of that point. You should still have plenty of room above the door. I had to bring mine forward from the garage opening about 2.5' to allow the door to open without striking the edge of the rack.

Very sturdy rack, adjustable to fit your needs. Husband and I installed it in a couple of hours, only some slight shoulder aches from arms lifted up for long periods of time. It was a little difficult to use the stud finder overhead, so we opted to go into the attic and use a very small punch tool to punch a hole on either side of the studs. Great storage for items that can't withstand the temperatures in the attic.

The VersaRac Ceiling Storage Rack in Gray by NewAge Products is another quality item. It is made of sturdy steel and comes with all the required installation hardware. What I really liked is the flexibility to configure to my individual location. My joists in the garage actually run two different directions, but I easily turned the brackets to securely fasten. It seems simple but other racks I looked at could not be modified. The height and width can also be modified, so it really can fit just about anywhere. I have several NewAge garage storage products, so I can really recommend their quality. This ceiling rack continues their high standard. It is a great option to add storage to your garage.

I bought this a few months ago. It’s diificult for me to climb step ladders but the promised help kept putting me off. So I worked on it myself. It took me about 4 hours to complete by myself. It seems sturdy and with the exception of a couple of mistakes it wasn’t to difficult. One measurement I regret not making was on the ceiling bracket. I should have measured 48” from the center, not the end. All the weight is on one bolt.

I score it 100 out of 100. Amazing quality and value. This is exceptionally well built, heavy duty and easy to install. I have used many different types of wire shelves and there are a lot of wimpy ones out there. This is the best I have ever seen and frankly, a steal. List price ($169) is a good buy and I got this for ($125). I stole it. I wish I had more room to install more of these. The only issue is I want it to drop down 72" and it maxes out at 42". No biggie, while at home depot I picked up the same sized Zinc-Plated Slotted Angle posts and extra bolts and $40 later I was all set. Also, I added Zinc Steel Punched Flat Bars as cross braces to make it more rigid so it didnt flex at all, because it does hang down over 6 feet. That and I like to over-engineer things. I really like this storage rack. I followed the easy to understand instructions to the T and the rack went up with ease and I did it alone, though I would recommend two people. It is strong and sturdy. The quality is suburb. When I came to the last nut, wash and bolt I only had one place to put them, that speaks volume for NewAge Products Quality Control. Thanks for a great product, well done. Defiantly would recommend this storage rack.

Works as advertised. Took a good couple of hours to install. The hardest part was finding studs that lined up with required distances, and mounting the ceiling brackets. The rest was pretty easy. Other than the lag bolts for the ceiling mounts, the same bolts, washers and nuts are used throughout the rest of the install. So no having to keep track of hardware. I'd also highly recommend using a driver with the correct socket. Made install even easier.

This is a strong shelf. I feel confident it will fulfill our needs. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is because the directions are not clear.

It took me some time to figure out how to install it, not because of the instructions but because of the layout of my garage ceiling. For some reason i was not able to find the wood joists where i planned to install it at first. I had to move the installation to the other side of the garage. Once the anchors where in place it was just matter of following the instructions. Great space saver and it is very sturdy. Will be putting great use to this unit. Really happy.

This rack, literally doubled the size of my storage room next to the garage! I was able to free up my entire garage. Now i have the garage free to do my projects. It is rated for 600lbs max and i believe i have 599lbs on it. It has been up for a good 3 months now and no problems! The extra hooks and racks are great for bikes and electrical cords. Easy to install. It took me about 6 hours to install and thats including adding ceiling pannels before actually starting the rack itself! Great product, highly recommended!!!

Very pleased with this rack. Mounted the rack in the corner of the garage on a 2x4 and one leg from the ceiling. Turned out better then I thought.

This storage rack when assembled is heavy duty enough to support the advertised load. Assembly is a little challenging if alignment is not perfect. A rubber mallet is a real benefit. The more weight added, the tighter the "tool less connections" cinches into the keyhole slots. However - Be aware that these connections do not prevent the rack from being lifted out of the slot. I was moving a wood rack with standing 4'x8' plywood, paying attention to obstacles on the floor. Unfortunately I ignored the upper edge of the plywood. Suddenly there was a loud noise and pain across my shoulders and back. The plywood had nudged the rack connectors up and out of the keyhole, dumping everything stored on the rack onto my shoulders and back. Fortunately, I hadn't stored anything that was extremely heavy so damage was limited to a couple of cuts from the rack edges and sore muscles. I don't plan to be as careless in the future, but to prevent reoccurrence, when I reassembled the rack, I drilled a small hole in each vertical support and added a small sheet metal screw at the top of one of the keyhole slots at each connection (see photo). This should prevent future failure even if I have a momentary lapse of memory and try to move a tall item under the rack!

Great product! Well designed, sturdy, and really easy to assemble. The instructions were really easy to follow. The hardest part was making sure i was drilling my pilot holes straight into the ceiling trusses. I have a finished garage, so i had to trust my stud finder. All looks good though... it's fully loaded and no signs of weak spots. I bought two, so I'm anxious to get the other one up and loaded.

Since I am downsizing and need to make use of every square foot in my garage, I now own three Gray NewAge VersaRac Ceiling Storage Racks and they have b een performing exactly as advertised. Two of the racks, because they are extremely adjustable, have been installed over the garage door and one, extended to its full height, width and length, is installed in the rear of the garage. The VersaRacs are rated to hold 500 pounds, and I have suspended enough stuff on them that I certainly believe that claim. These storage racks aren't pretty, but they are exceptionally utilitarian.

Product was challenging to install due to alignment with ceiling studs. However, after proper installation the product looks very good.
