I put the end of the hose in hot water to soften the hose . This made it easier to attach the mender.

Flawed Design/Poor Quality
Attempted to use on 3/4” hose. Screws are far too short to reach the opposite half. I gently compressed the two halves in a vise to close them once assembled just enough to get the screws in, the screws pulled out stripping the threads when I released the vice. Home Depot obviously did not test this product

I bought this to replace a plastic one that I had put on my hose. I could never get the plastic one tight enough, so hose would spin inside of fitting, and leak. This metal one works much better. No more leaks.

It works, but it tends to get loose again and constant re-tightening is required. So It's a temporary solution. Have had it for 3 weeks so cannot comment about durability

The clamps were too small for them to touch on both sides. Yes they were the right size for the application. Yes I have made many hose repairs in the past.
