Wish I would have known how terrible this fescue looks with the rest of my TTTF. Hope they stop selling this type or label it better.

The Pennington grass seed did not germinate as expected. Perhaps it was because I put it down just before we had about a week of rain. But nonthe less I was disappointed. Perhaps it will look better in the Spring

I aerate and seed for a number of family and fiends and my lawn. this seed did not germinate very will at all. I would not use it again. If I could get my money back I would and go get what I have used in the past

poor germination in southern Maryland
I bought two of these bags to lay last spring and this fall. Last spring I had dismal germination but had assumed it was "something" out of my control.
I live in southern MD where earth is compacted. I do have fescue/rye growing throughout the yard with various patches that needed to recover.
This fall I applied as per instructions and the watered every day for two weeks. I did not see any growth in the patchy areas nor in the areas that already fescue/rye growth.

I would not buy this product again.
I prepared soil as required fertilized distributed seed (40 LBS) with my spreader and watered for three weeks. I had a yield of maybe 1% grass and a lot of what looks like clover, not 100% sure what it is.

Product works if you water the correct way
I read comments and I see others saying i never have had a problem with this seed been using it for 8-10 years you can't over water and must but a light mist of water making sure your soil stays moist not muddy it should not look wet. seed will rot. I learned that if you use a mister or light sprinkler setting for about a 1-2'Min early morning if you can mid day and evening only mist you will have best results also for those spots that don't catch the birds do also eat the seed. For those who have had a bad experience try this out. Hope it works for you.
