The birds seem to like it. As for the mess it leaves I can't tell since the feeder I use is hanging next to 2 other types of feeders.

I strongly prefer safflower seed, which you have not had my last two trips. The birds like it better, and the squirrels do not eat it.
PLEASE RESUME CARRYING SHELLED SAFFLOWER SEED. I will not buy the above seed again.
