Customer Reviews for RYOBI ONE+ 18V Cordless AirStrike 23-Gauge 1-3/8 in. Headless Pin Nailer (Tool Only)

I have owned this since 2016... its not the newest model, but I have had great luck with this and have put over 1000s of hours building with all my Ryobi tools, without fail. I own a Haunted Attraction and we build sets that cover over 13,000 square feet. This along with a dozen other Ryobi tools have not let us down with our builds. They have been dropped, stepped on, ran battery after battery through them and still keep going. If there was any negative, I have had the nailer and stapler jam a couple times, but nothing that couldn't be taken care of quickly.

I enjoy hot light it is and ease of use. Make getting projects quicker and less exhaustive.

I'm a bit disappointed but it does the job. I was pin nailing pine trim onto pine boards with 5/8 nails. The nails were sticking out some. Not good for a finished look. I had to remove the small plastic tip (where the nail comes out of the machine) in order to get the nails flush or sunk into the pine. I wished there was an adjustment to dial in the depth.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've tried different types of nail guns. This is not my favorite, but for the price it works well for the amounf of use I need out of it. There's a weird delay between nails, it's not like a compressor nail gun where you can installl nail after nail. This one needs time in between ...

The Ryobi 18V Airstrike 23-gage nailer worked great. It leaves almost no noticeable nail marks in finish molding. If you have a project that involves finish molding I highly recommend.

Picked up this pin nailer today and was disappointed when I opened the box. The tool has NO protective plastic case to store it in. My brad and finish nailers from a competitor came in cases to store and transport them in. I will have to come up with a case. I have a lot of ryobi 18v tools and that influenced my decision to by this model. Had I known there was no case I may have looked closer at other brands. The tool itself seems fine, tried on scrap with 1 1/4 and 1” pins.

Wouldn't drive more than 2 nails in 10 tries. Note: im using Porter Cable 23ga nails because Home Depot did not have Ryobi. They had one other brand but i figured the PC to be the better brand. I understand that at 23 gauge there is not much margin for error, but if you’re going to make a tool that will only use your own consumables then it had better at least come with a starter quantity, which it did not.

Switched to Ryobi years ago and happy with most of their tools. 80% have been great, 20% poor -this pin nailer’s really poor. For the number of Ryobi tools I have, thez platform's still a safe investment compared to having bought Milwaukee/Makita/Dewalt etc. After a few days of use found this just could not drive the pin, even with a 4.0ah battery. The nail always sat proud. I work with hard maple or cherry. The return window closed before I dealt with it, so went into the waste of money pile.

The fact that I don’t have to fill in nail holes makes it worth the money. I’m not crazy about the safety trigger, but it’s a very minor negative.

Works great until it doesn't. Have to reset the striker in the nose plate all the time.
