Meh.
This heat gun is good for heat shrink tube on electrical wires. It's a little slow to shrink them but it will shrink them. I think if you have any other use in mind you should throw it away and go buy a real one. However if you need a cordless option this is the affordable option that does get rhe job done. It uses a lot of power so have plenty of batteries charged.

A hair dryer works better.
Goes through battery too quickly and doesnt get that hot, maybe its ok for a super small job, but dont use if you need to heat more that one small area unless you have 10-20 batteries ready to switch out.

Disappointed!
Let me start by saying I am a Ryobi Fan!! Unfortunately, this heat gun didn't live up to my expectations of what a Ryobi product should be. This thing eats up a 4ah battery in no time at all. Its not strong and the heat is underwhelming. My wife’s hair dryer is more impressive. I was just left disappointed.

Terrible
1) you cannot LOCK the on trigger to use both hands for holding the target wires, etc.
2) it will not sit evenly on its back, which I suppose is nullified by the fact that you can’t lock the darn thing on anyway.
3) the directional attachments are too small to be functional, which is important because the gun does not get very hot and you have to do everything with one hand.

Light and fast

good work
It gets hot. I used it to soften the glazing compound on a 60 year old window. It took a few minutes to do all 4 sides, which is plenty fast.
