Q:I have the 18V Lithium 4Ah Ryobi battery PBP005 showing all 4 lights on constantly unplugged and unattached to any tool.
When it's plugged to the charger gave green and red light blinking. I got this as a gift last year. What's my option?

Q:I have 4 Ryobi 18V 4Ah batteries, all bought within the past 3 months. On the backside, 2 of them say 72Wh and the other 2 say 74Wh. Can you explain this discrepancy?

HP Batteries do make a difference
The hp battery pack does make a difference when used in an hp tool. A lot of these online reviews dont explain or test correctly. Now my hp impact wrench zipps off my wheel bolts with ease

Anticipate Extended Charge Time
Battery appears to have about a 30mins run time however, the rapid charger utilized for this which says “30 minute charger” is not accurate. For a full charge on the rapid charger my battery is requiring 60 minutes to charge. This prolongs projects so I would recommend an additional battery. Less than ideal but necessary.

Ok but misses mark of original
Not as good as orignal P197 Battery, lacks protective rubber bottom ring.
Ryobi unfornately going cheap like so many others.

Powers everything the larger 4 Ah battery does and is half the weight. The Ryobi 18volt Lithium 2 Ah battery (PBP006) weighs in at just under a pound, has power level indicator lights (fuel gage) and fits everyone of my Ryobi power tools. I have an older P118B charger that I got with a Previous Ryobi system and it charged the 2 Ah battery in just under 50 minutes. I get 4 cuts with my Ryobi string trimmer from my 4 Ah battery and with the same string trimmer I got 2 cuts using the 2 Ah battery. Exactly what I would expect from a battery with half the storage capacity and half the weight. The battery pack is held together with tamper proof torx screws with the case felling sturdy but it is not armored (rubber bumper). Product is made in China. For me having half the weight and still be able to get everything I need done is a good thing so a 2 Ah battery does have it place in my tool kit. Recommended.

With the number of Ryobi tools in my workshop increasing; and getting used more frequently, it was time for another battery especially since I frequently select bare tools. Bare tools don't include batteries, chargers or carrying cases and therefore cost less. This is a newer model 2.0 AH battery. It is model number PBP006. It is the standard version. Ryobi also offers a high performance version of this battery at a higher cost. Features found with this battery include a slightly reduced overall size, and more importantly, a large, easy to read fuel gauge. This battery comes with a 3-year warranty.

I really appreciate the battery level LED meters on these newer Ryobi batteries. I still have one of the old Ryobi P102 batteries which doesn't have the LED battery level meter and I have to use an external Ryobi P150 plug in on top battery meter to measure the battery level. The older Ryobi P102 battery is about the same size as this new battery. The Ryobi P150 battery level meter is no longer available. I like that the LED battery level meter comes on quick!!! On some other brands the LED's come on one at time in sequence. The improvements in these newer Ryobi batteries are certainly appreciated.
