Thank you for sharing your experience. Floors with multiple layers or more aggressive coatings will require the longest soak time of Rust-Oleum Paint Stripper for Concrete for the best results. You want to ensure that more product is applied to the surface to keep it wet while it is soaking.

Read the negative reviews
The negative reviews are correct. Trying to remove latex overspray on concrete. Used this product EXACTLY as instructed. It does not work. Thick coating, let sit many hours, try to scape, very little to nothing, more coating, wait hours, try to scrape, nothing. Returning and getting something else.

That doesn't sound right! After applying Rust-Oleum Paint Stripper For Concrete as directed, reapply the product as necessary to keep the entire surface covered with a thick layer. It may take 30 minutes to 5 hours for the coating to detach from the surface, depending on the type of coating being removed. Floors with multiple layers or more aggressive coatings will require the longest time. We need to know more about your experience to get to the bottom of this. Please call us at 888-683-5667 to discuss further. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 5 Rustoleum

Definitely did not work as advertised. Took 3x as much to halfway finish the job. We gave up on it and ended up grinding off the rest of the paint

Thank you for sharing your experience, Dale. While each gallon of Rust-Oleum Paint Stripper for Concrete will have a recommended coverage of 75 square feet, that rate will be effected by the surface and coating condition. To ensure the best results, a thick layer of the paint stripper needs to be applied and then allowed to remain wet on the surface.

Very good at removing paint off concrete.
I spilled some pant on my concrete patio and tried this remover. After putting it down I tried to scarp it up with a scraper but didn't seem to work as well as when I used my pressure washer. It was removed without any trace of it been there so I would recommend it.

    two applications and no effect
Sadly this product didnt work as advertised. First application, followed directions and it had little effect on small area it was applied to so tried second application and nothing as the solution just dried up. Thats two strikes so third would sadly be money wasted so recommend you try something else

Let's see what we can figure out. For best results, using Rust-Oleum Paint Stripper For Concrete, apply a thick layer of the stripper onto the floor, lightly move the stripper around on the floor with a stiff bristle brush to ensure even coverage. Paint Stripper must remain on the surface and be allowed to penetrate all the layers of paint or stain to be removed. Re-apply the product as necessary to keep the entire surface covered with a thick layer of Paint Stripper, do not allow to dry on the surface. It may take 30 minutes to 5 hours for the coating to detach from the surface, depending on the type of coating being removed. Floors with multiple layers or more aggressive coatings will require the longest time.

      Don’t do it!
It did not remove the paint I had. The normal stripper works so much better. Spend the extra money on getting the basic stripper. You will waste your money on this product.

Used four gallons on a 17’ - 16’ patio to try to remove two year old epoxy paint. Did not work at all. Had to rent a concrete grinder to do the job. Wasted $150.

That is not what we like to hear! Our Rust-Oleum Paint Stripper for Concrete is designed to remove paint, sealer, and epoxy from concrete surfaces. Some epoxies can require two applications for complete removal. It is important to keep the remover wet by applying more if necessary, until the section begins to wrinkle visibly on the surface. Please give us a call at 888-683-5667, we want to learn more about the issues experienced, and make things right. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 2 Rustoleum

That is not what we like to hear! Our Rust-Oleum Paint Stripper for Concrete is designed to remove epoxy, paint, and stain from concrete floors, though multiple applications may be needed for more robust coatings. The stripper needs to remain wet on the surface to continue working, and more may be added to the area to keep it wet. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 2 Rustoleum

I had to apply this 4 times and it still did not remove the paint. I finally had to go back to Home Depot and get a Power Washer to finish the job. I do not think this product is worth the money when it does not work.

Let's see what we can figure out! Rust-Oleum Paint Stripper For Concrete is designed to easily remove paint, stains and film forming sealers from garage floors and other concrete surfaces prior to applying a new coating. Apply the Stripper full strength directly onto the floor in a thick layer, lightly move the stripper around on the floor with a stiff bristle brush to ensure even coverage. Do not scrub. Apply more product to areas that appear thin. Rust-Oleum Paint Stripper must remain on the surface and be allowed to penetrate all of the layers of paint or stain to be removed. Re-apply the product as necessary to keep the entire surface covered with a thick layer. It may take 30 minutes to 5 hours for the coating to detach from the surface depending on the type of coating being removed. Floors with multiple layers or more aggressive coatings will require the longest time.

              What a mess
Had to remove painting my basement from concrete. Around 500sqft area. Used only 3 gallons. Paint did come off ok, but fumes are bad. I must have washed and power washed 20 times. Used fans nothing helped. Had to hire company to help to blow out air.

Let's see what we can figure out. Rust-Oleum Paint Stripper For Concrete removes layers of paints, stains and film forming sealers. Before beginning, test a small area to determine the amount of time the Paint Stripper needs to sit in order to remove the coating. It may take 30 minutes to 5 hours for the coating to detach from the surface depending on the type of coating being removed. Floors with multiple layers or more aggressive coatings will require the longest time. Give us a call at 888-683-5667 so we can hear more about your application and work to make things right.

We appreciate your feedback! Rust-Oleum Paint Stripper for Concrete is intended to remove paint, stain, and film forming sealers. We do not recommend it to remove 2-part epoxies or penetrating sealers. For ease of removal, we recommend reapplying the product as needed to keep the surface wet until the whole coating is visually wrinkled.
