Something is amiss here, JJ. We recommend applying multiple light coats, applying it this way will result in the first layer acting as a primer. We are happy to hear the paint worked well for you. Please keep in mind we do not recommend using any spray paint indoors. It is difficult to achieve proper ventilation and for this reason, the directions state to use this product outdoors in a well-ventilated area.

That is not what we like to hear. If the paint was sputtering out of the nozzle, it leads us to believe that the nozzle was clogged. Inside the can is a dip tube that pulls the paint from the bottom of the can to the tip. If the pigment in the paint is too big or if there’s not enough pressure behind it, it can get stuck in the tube or tip and the paint won’t spray or will sputter. Try spraying the can holding it at different angles such as upside down. Also, be sure to wipe the tip of the nozzle after spraying, even if stopping for a few minutes to prevent the paint from drying on the spray tip. Uh oh, sounds to us that the product needed more shaking. It is important to shake the can for an entire 60 seconds once the ball begins to rattle inside the can. Doing so will break up any globs and redisperse the pigments to give an even spray.

If the clog is in the tip, soaking it in mineral spirits should clear it out; if the clog is the tube, there is unfortunately no way to clear it. Keeping the nozzle clean, either by wiping off with a rag after each use or by soaking the nozzle in mineral spirits should help keep it from clogging with dried paint.
