Drawer quality is horrible
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] whether its the freezer drawer, the middle zone drawer or the crisper drawers, they all are very poorly designed and manufactured. they are constantly getting stuck, coming off their tracks or just breaking. they get hung up, little bits (and eventually big bits) of plastic break off. the zone drawer cut the wires to the control panel so it no longer works (photo below) which means no ice, no changing temperatures etc . the top shelf drawer of the freezer constantly came off its tracks until finally a wheel broke off and made it useless (photo below).

    Very disappointed with a $3 thousand dollars product!!! It started to fall apart around the one year anniversary purchase. The ice keeps on forming with condensation build up constantly and also the stainless steel spiral mechanic within the ice tray has rust build up also. Now, we can’t use the little amount of ice that it produces due to the rust being exposed to the ice. Now, as if today, water is leaking from the ice maker itself. How can a $3 thousand dollar product behave like this????

      Whatever you do, DO NOT BUY. My fridge was manufactured in May of 2018. Bought it in June. By August the ice maker was frozen over and repaired. By November it was frozen over again and leaking out of the door on to my wood floor. Neither Home Depot or Samsung want anything to do with this fridge. The offered to replace it with the same fridge, but here is the catch - your warranty will be post dated to the date of original purchase so the replacement will come with only a few months of warranty. So the next time this 3K waste of metal breaks down again it will be out of warranty and you will be stuck with it. I have had many fridges in my life, and this is by far the worst. Home Depot said it was Samsungs problem and Samsung said its Home Depots problem, meaning no refund, under any circumstance as Home Depot only allows same item swaps. Google this fridge and you will see everyone has the same problem and hassle. It usually takes about a year to break down but mine was "defective", so it broke down in a few months and they were forced to offer me a same model replacement. So if you like laying awake at night regretting a purchase and like coming home after work wondering if your fridge is leaking or not making ice, then this is the fridge for you! My service repair guy states he works on Samsung only and all he does it repair this model and warns against buying a Samsung with an ice maker in the fridge part and not in the freeze as the constant temp change causes it to ice over and then leak out through the door as it melts.

        Wow! Impressive! We ordered this, sight unseen, off HD's website. It replaced a 20 year old smaller regular fridge. We are starting our remodeling of our kitchen and this was our first purchase, as we had to rip out all the cupboards around the refrigerator area. We have had it for 4 days now and are really impressed. The fact that some of the shelves are metal is a nice touch (see picture), as it cools down things very quickly. It took 4 hours too cool down to running temps after we first plugged it in. It took the usual 24 hours to start making ice. The drawer is awesome and super convenient!!! Sodas can be stored in there with no issues. Some of the shelves flip up so you can store taller items. We really like that. The pitcher is such a nice bonus! We use it daily to fill our cat's water fountain and coffee / espresso maker. It's everything we wanted and more. Ample room! Great space saver. We caught this on sale and are not disappointed at all!

          Absolutely Wonderful!
          This refrigerator has a ton of bells and whistles. The first thing you will notice is the stainless steel is very striking! I looked at the finish and went WOW! Absolutely beautiful. The middle drawer works great and can have four temperature settings. We use it to store meat and it keeps it very fresh longer. It has a water pitcher in the door. We drink a lot of water and never run out now. I have a temporary water line hooked up because it is in the garage until the kitchen remodel is finished. Once in the kitchen I will hook the water line up to the RO unit being installed to get the best tasting water possible! Freezer is a very good size. Only down side is you lose some refrigerator space with the extra drawer and counter top depth but it is a trade off. It keeps a perfect temperature, unlike some other brands. Also runs very quiet! I had to check it was on a few times! It is very heavy (350lbs when empty) and if you ever have to move it get plenty of help. Turbo option cools down the unit very fast! After two hours and forty minutes it was at 37 degrees! For now we are remodeling and we have it in the garage. We have the old fridge in the kitchen and I can't wait to get this in its kitchen home. Magnets will not stick to the front but do stick to the side. A tip is the refrigerator will cool down faster if you turn it on turbo and fill it with your cold food. Door alarm will remind you to close the door! So far I can't find any overwhelming negatives and therefore it earned five stars!

          Big and Beautiful!
          I got this refrigerator to replace an old top/bottom refrigerator freezer in my mom's house. Because this one is larger, I had to remove a wood side panel in the nook where the old one was to make room for the width of the new one but it was worth it. This unit is so much bigger and better than her old one and gorgeous! I can't list all the modern features but my mom loves the crushed ice and water dispenser. The water filter is easy to access and replace and is required twice a year. There is so much space in this refrigerator and the French doors and open design make finding things easy. LED lighting, temperature controls & display, door alarm; I could go on. The refrigerator drawer is perfect for storing sandwich meats and cheeses. In addition to the filtered ice/water dispenser, there is a pitcher inside the door that automatically refills with filtered water so you will always have cold water available. The SS front will not accommodate magnets but there is plenty of room on the sides that will. My mom shows it to everyone who comes over like it is a new car. Great fridge! We all love it!

          A great look with amazing function.
          So first of all... This Samsung 4-door french door refrigerator in stainless steel is the exactly what we have been looking for. It has a great aesthetic, functions great, and has some pretty awesome features like the following. 1) An easy to access water filter - I've always had fridges that the filter is very hard to access. With this fridge, it is right in the main fridge area and with a 180 degree twist, you can replace the filter so quickly. 2) This fridge has a built in water pitcher which is AMAZING! I've never seen this before! While the ice/water dispenser is great, I use my 32 ounce cup quite often and it takes some time to fill up, but with the pitcher, i take it out and quickly refill. By far my most favorite feature of this frige, kudos to Samsung for this one. The great thing is, that within 12 seconds, the fridge starts to refill the pitcher so you'll always have cold water. BONUS - it has a built in steeper so you can add tea bags to make ice tea in the pitcher (or add cucumbers or lemon to make your own flavored water) 3) The handles are very smooth and easily gripable. This helps a lot in those moments when you dont' have a free hand, you can even use your elbow to open the fridge! 4) The middle section can be used at either a fridge temp or a freezer temp. When setting this, you actually have the choice of Wine; Deli; Beverage; Meat. As seen in my pictures, we currently use it for drinks and some deli meat. 5) The freezer is actually quite big! There is a separate drawer that you can use for quick grab items (ice cream, pizza, etc.) then has a deeper section for ice bags if needed etc. Overall we are super happy with this fridge. Couple things to mention when you first get it. 1) There is a lot of plastic! Will take some time to take all of it off 2) Make sure to read the manual, there are some good tips in there like the fact that you want your fridge to lean backwards and they teach you how to (using a small flat head with knobs at the bottom of the fridge) 3) If for whatever reason your fridge doors are not lined up, Samsung provides little washers that you can open the door that is lower than the other, and lift it up and slide the washer in. This actually took me and a friend to do, but wasn't hard once I had a helping hand. 4) This fridge has a TURBO option to get your fridge down to temperature when you first get it. After turning this on, our fridge was down to temp within 2 hours (could have been faster but was not actively monitoring) 5) When you schedule your appt to get your fridge, make sure to remember the food in your old fridge. You will want to get some coolers to store your food in while the team installs your fridge and your fridge is getting to temp 6) You can actually get a samsung smart device to plug into your fridge and download an app to understand certain aspects of your fridge and get notified if there is anything wrong - I won't be doing this but very cool that its available. Highly highly suggest this fridge and will now consider Samsung for every big appliance purchase moving forward!

          This Is a Chefs Fridge!! All I Can say is WOW!!
          I'm not going go over the specs as Home Depot does a good job of making all that information available but I'm going go over how this fridge looks and works in the real world. Appearance: This thing looks like a work of art but something that would be right at home in a commercial setting or a chefs kitchen. The stainless is really nice and true to a stainless color that matches a lot of other appliance manufactures stainless colors (smart Samsung). The LED are high quality and light the inside perfectly and beautifully with no dead spots. The LED color is penetrating but not to blueish intense, I nice true white. The handles on the top two doors are solid metal and sculpted nicely. The inside metal panels should be the new industry standard, functional, stylish, and easy to clean. Performance: This Refrigerator performs as well as it looks. I notice immediately that that minutes after plugging it in it was getting cold, 20 min in and it was cold enough to put all of our items in, 45 min in and the freezer was ready, 1 hour later it was making ice. The inside metal panels cool things down in a hurry. The ice machine works perfect and is quieter than most when dispensing ice. The water dispenser is great and shoots out with good pressure to fill a large cup or pitcher quick, it will fit a standard size pitcher. The inside water pitcher/infuser is awesome! We fill it with fresh lemons or cucumbers for great flavored water that we put at the center of the table during dinner, as soon as you put it back it fills itself back up. All the glass shelves sliders and crispers are well thought out and placed in ideal locations. The bottom freezers and intermediate pullout are all soft close and spacious. My wife uses the middle pullout for the kids fresh snacks so they don't have to open the top doors. The whole fridge is quiet, no humming or ice tumbling, its very well insulated both for temperature and sound. All the digital controls are self explanatory in how they work and the way they are layed out. I didn't have to look at the manual to get it going although i did refer to it to start the ice machine (there is a button you have to push inside of the ice bin area. Overall: This is not an entry level refrigerator and not at the cheap end of the spectrum but what you pay for you get. This may not have a TV on the door or hook up to you WIFI but your not buying a Television your buying a refrigerator. If you value quality and style, consider yourself an at home executive chef or really are one then this fridge suites you! Just as the title says..... WOW! From the moment the delivery guys dropped it of (By the way, Home Depot delivery is excellent!) I was stunned!

          Absolutely gorgeous and functional fridge (Video posted below)
          All of my appliances are Samsung, and this is a great addition to the lineup. First off, it's absolutely beautiful. I have gotten so many compliments from friends and family members as soon as they walk in the door. It's so sleek and modern, and the stainless steel just pops. Samsung removed the handles on the middle and freezer drawers, and actually built them into the drawers themselves. this really saves you space, and it just looks better all around. Although This is a bit smaller than my last refrigerator, there is a lot of room for all the food you need, and it still tucks into the cabinets nicely. The top doors in the main fridge area fold up and also slide in for larger pots and/or drink containers, and they give you a lot of side shelf space as well. The best updated to this from my last Samsung fridge is 1. they added a fruit pitcher/diffuser that fills up automatically once the door is closed. 2. They removed the writing on the shelves so it won't wear off after sliding milk jugs over them 3. The control panel is on the inside of the refrigerator door now, instead of on the outside of the door 4. they added stainless steel on the inside of the fridge, not just the outside. The middle drawer is nice for the kids to keep there snacks in, and the temperature can be adjusted for meats, wine, snacks etc... There is also an adjustment mechanism to keep things nicely organized. The freezer is large and can store many different food itema. you can pit it into deep freeze for meats and fish, and also get those popsicles frozen faster! the freezer also has a top drawer for added storage. The stainless is beautiful, and it does a good job preventing finger prints better than others that I have had. Another plugs is that it is extremely silent, and you will never hear this fridge kicking on or off. The only negatives that I have found with this is 1. The inside freezer drawer dies not sit securely as I would like it to when pulling it in and out. 2. Though the water comes out extremely fast, the ice dispenser is slow when dispensing cubed and crushed ice. Other than that, I absolutely love this fridge and guarantee you will love it also. Samsung did a great job on the upgrades, and I will continue to use Samsung for our family appliances.

          Beautiful, excellent product except for ice maker!
          I have had this model since September 2020. This is a wonderful refrigerator with an absolute failure of an ice maker. The beverage drawer and water pitcher are excellent. The ice maker should be recalled as it is a failure and cannot be rectified.

            This was the biggest mistake and I have sworn off Samsung as a result. The ice maker stopped working within months. My husband and I would injure ourselves weekly and scrap up our hands trying to fix it ourselves chiseling out ice. I had a repair man come out and he walked in and said “I fix these things all day long and it will just break again”. And he was right. We decided to live without ice. Then the freezer draw would constantly go off track and it would be an epic fight to get it back on with a lot of cursing. I honestly never write reviews but my hatred for this refrigerator makes me want to help some other poor unsuspecting fool from having the same grief with an appliance you literally use ALL DAY LONG.

              Go with another brand unless you don't care too much for an ice maker ....it stopped working right after warranty. froze up and no matter how many times I defrosted it the ice maker didn't work.

                Position of icemaker is bad design
                Great refrigerator but the position of the icemaker in the refrigerator section causes it to freeze over. I have to thaw it once a month or I am unable to remove the icebin. Love the filtered water in the door.

                  The worst. Do not buy
                  this is truly the worst refrigerator and it was one of the most expensive ones on the market. we are continually disappointed by this unit. within six months, the fridge started leaking and the ice maker started to freeze up. we quickly found out there were class action lawsuits outstanding for samsung's freezer units. two replacements of the ice maker and we still do not have working ice. now the flex drawer, if opened, creates a short and the entire refrigerator shuts off. the whole thing. i hate this fridge and wish that samsung had to make right these errors. no one should be able to be in business selling refrigerators if this is the quality of the product they put out into the marketplace.

                    Worst Ice Maker, Worst Filter
                    i have had this refrigerator for less than 3 years. i swear the ice maker has broken 3x. the icemakers was once replaced. the digital panel for the middle drawer is garbage. that was even replaced. i am really not happy with this refrigerator. i wish that i never wasted my money purchasing this. lately the icemaker has been accumulating ice, freezing over and jamming. i have to manually take the ice out of the jam on the side of the wall. it's very frustrating. the freezer drawer is a joke too.

                        Ice Dispensing Issues and Other Inconveniences
                        I bought this product in August 2018 and it is a cumbersome refrigerator that I later regret. The major issues with this kind of refrigerator are: 1. The interior fridge temperature is not cold enough. It takes hours to cool down any food or beverages. 2. The ice dispenser freezes up every 2 weeks or so. 3. The water pitcher leaks from the lid every time you pour a drink.

                          Poor quality appliance
                          every other day, the ice maker stops working because the dispensed ice gets stuck to the side of the maker. our freezer drawer constantly comes off the track. we continually find frost in the freezer and the whole fridge and freezer experience temperature fluctuations. last night, my husband put a small plastic container of butter on the top shelf and the whole thing shattered, sending glass shards and pieces all over the house and all over our food.

                            i bought a samsung because of my experiences and their reputation in the industry. i shouldn't have! after reading all of the bad reviews based on the ice box freezing up, i really should have known better. after a year my ice cube box froze up. i called to see about getting repaired (1 month past the 1year) and was told that i had to pay for a repair first. samsung acknowledged there was an issue and they still wanted me to pay, such bad service. now after 2.5 years, the control panel is giving me error codes. now i have a frozen ice box and a glitched out control panel, all of this on a $3000+ fridge on a 2.5 year fridge. unexceptionable.

                              No water, no ice. About all it does is chill food
                              i am not a review writer, and i own a bunch of samsung items, tv’s, but this might he the end of the appliances at least i think. when researching this fridge about 2 years ago, i read some bad things on the ice maker, and just kind of figured it was a couple people having issues as my last fridge fron samsung was flawless. then, about 6 months in, the icemaker started icing up. constantly. never had ice and keep a flat blade screwdriver handy to chisel it out about once a week. then a few months later, the pitcher wouldn’t fill. then the water wouldn’t work at all. figured it was a bad filter since i had recently changed, but a swap out confirmed it was not the filter. if you want a glass of water, you just remove the filter every time and it resets some sort of pressure solenoid.

                                Unrepairable Cooling Problem
                                I'll start with the positive. The icemaker never gave problems until the cooling failed. The auto-filling water pitcher is AWESOME - I will miss it. Our family loved the middle drawer too. Home Depot extended warranty contacts were always very nice. Now for the not-so-positive. Three years after purchase, the refrigerator was no longer able to cool properly (50F fridge and 40F freezer). Samsung Care came out FOUR times over about 2 months to tell me they would fix it with some various part or circuit board. None worked. Eventually, they admitted it was the sealed system at fault, which they should have been able to figure out the first visit (not the THIRD). I had to wait for a 4th visit to confirm what was already known after the 3rd. As far as I can tell, Samsung (doesn't) Care, a contracted third party, isn't capable of repairing modern R600a systems, so they refunded my purchase instead of trying to repair it. On the positive side, I got the refund fairly quickly and bought a competitor's model instead with the money. This now makes me 3/3 on Samsung appliances with problems within 3 years. Never again.

                                  The ice maker has needed repair 5 times. It is the biggest disappointment. I love the auto fill water jug and the layout it great, but those are not worth the nightmare of an ice maker. Thank god I bought the extended warrantee. Stupid thing is either frozen or leaking.

                                    Ice Maker
                                    1 year warranty first of all. Ice maker has known issues (there is a class action lawsuit). Will freeze over constantly. There is no defrost protocol, just open the fridge and let your food spoil or start buying ice. Terrible product.

                                      Nice Refrigerator, ice maker has known design defects
                                      this is a good looking refrigerator, quiet, very practical spacious layout. Be absolutely sure you buy the extended warranty as these ice makers have longstanding design defects. the bottom of the ice maker will continually frost with frozen condensate leading to ice blockages from the icemaker. There's a facebook group "samsung refrigerator recall USA" that details the known defects, class action lawsuits and even one by the NJ office of consumer affairs. Home Depot has always treated me well, but I advise buying another brand from HD if these ice maker problems will bother you.

                                        I am extremely disappointed in this model fridge
                                        we paid more for this fridge than any fridge ever. as you well know there is a design flaw in the icemaker. we have had it repair 3 times now and it never has fixed the problem. the ice mqker freezes up. they have put new parts on ane it doesnt fix the problem. we have to buy ice ever couple of days. there is just the two of us qt home qnd this fridge has been our achilles' heel i dont know what to do. we cant afford another fridge. my huband has read all kinds of bad reviews om our fridgw. i wish and hope you can make this right. we live on only ss. please help us.

                                          HORRIBLE ICE MACHINE
                                          only had a little over a year and have already had the ice machine break twice. terribly frustrating! have been using old-school ice trays for months. i give up. not cool, samsung.

                                            Total junk!
                                            I've owned this Samsung refrigerator for less than two years. Already the ice maker broke and needed service. The inside door bin cover snapped off. One wheel in the freezer slide out snapped off. And now the freezer is not even freezing fully. Total junk! Stay away from Samsung refrigerators.

                                              Great features...poor design
                                              [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] i expected more from samsung. the ice maker is worthless. works for a few days, and then freezes up and you need to defrost. known problem with samsung, as a on-line tech walked me through how to fix.
