    Nice exterior, nice interior, but lousy ice maker performance. Thank goodness we bought the 5 year protection plan. All that is going on is parts swapping. We paid a lot of money for so called quality. Ice maker has an ice formation on the bottom, and sometimes ice cubes get lodged in the mess.

      The only reason this refrigerator got two stars instead of one is because I love the middle drawer's versatility and the LED lights in the refrigerator. However, I've only owned this refrigerator for seven months and the freezer is completely iced over. It looks like a blizzard hit it. I completely dismantled the freezer twice (the inserts come out), cleaned all of the ice and snow out of it, but it still freezes up. In order for the freezer to actually perform I have had to clean it out monthly. The ice dispenser dispenses snow, not ice cubes. I am really disgusted with this expensive refrigerator. For $2,200 I expect a lot more.

        ICE MAKER PROBLEMS: We took delivery of this refrigerator in December of 2014. It has been a great refrigerator with one exception. There is a known problem with the ice maker (per the repairmen). We paid for the 3 year extended warranty (which is really only 2 years plus Samsung's 1 year). The ice maker froze and quit making ice after a couple of years. The repairman said he repaired the problem. He did not. The next repairman said Samsung knew there was a problem and their latest solution included epoxying some air infiltration holes and this would fix our problem. This bandaid worked long enough for our warranty to expire and Samsung says it is no longer their problem even though the original problem has never been fixed. The photo shows where the ice always builds up until the ice maker quits making ice.

          Well, I did a lot of research on refrigerators prior to buying this one (review of all of the 1-star reviews!). It had to be reliable, energy efficient and needed to have ice in the door. The quantity of ice was not the top priority. Neither was it being french door or side by side. We were replacing a side by side that was probably 20 years old and came with the house. This one came up as one of the top. Reviews for a lot of them said that the ice makers froze up all of the time or just quit working. I would cross them off immediately. With all of the stainless appliances out there we were looking for a refrigerator that was black. Narrowed it down quite a bit but with all of the pine wood, I did not want stainless. Plus, I read that the stainless would start to peal on many models. Of course, there is the size of the opening as well. Weeding out of the brands which were not so reliable left me to consider this one. We have had it for several months now and are very happy with it. Of course at first, you are always listening for every different noise it would make. It is quieter than our old one but does have a fan which seems to run most of the time. Imagine this is to keep the air moving inside. It is not loud, just different! The ice maker is loud just like the reviews said it would be. I thought how much louder could it be? It so much louder that we all jumped (even the cats!) at each dumping of ice. We still do jump on occasion. But it does crank out the ice. I did notice that the ice did seem to be a bit more "wet" than our other one which was in the freezer rather than the refrigerator. When it was set up the installers used the default settings. This might be a bit warm to keep the ice cold enough to prevent the freeze up issues that some see. I personally don't have any issue with the ice maker. I also like the pull out drawer for the refrigerator. Helps to put all the breakfast and lunch stuff in there to keep everyone for holding the doors open looking for common things. The freezer seems spacious enough and does have a second drawer as well. One of the handles did have a scratch on install. I called in and it was replaced quickly. Good to know that a repair on this unit is close even though we are very rural. The only down side is that when using the crush ice feature, ice does get hug up on the plastic, then when it melts runs down and fills the tray below. The cubes don't seem to do that so we tend to use that more. Overall I give it the 5 stars that it deserves. Keeps everything cold, makes enough ice, is stylish is everything I expected. Couldn't ask for more, at least for the moment.

          First this is an awesome fridge and if you do decide to buy GET THE EXTENDED WARRANTY! We love our fridge but the handles mechanisms are cheaply made and the ice box leaks. While under the manufacturers warranty they covered 100% of the repairs, after that Samsung would not fix handles (broke 3 times in 2 years) and they have replaced ice maker / box 3 times. The ice maker is defective (guessing since it is in the fridge part and not the freezer). Due to not being able to repair the problem, they are in the stage of buying back the fridge. If it were not for the extended warranty we would have been stuck with a very expensive defective product (we bought it when it first came out so these defects may have been addressed). BUY THE WARRANTY.

            ICE MAKER DOES NOT WORK. FREEZES OVER AND STOPS. Bought an older version of this RF28HFEDBBC/AA on 12/15/2015 for $2500. Within 12 months the ice maker began leaking -- a lot. At 22 months the ice maker stopped working completely and the drawer was jammed shut. I chatted with the Samsung tech who told me to defrost the entire unit (too bad so sad for all the food in it!) by holding the Alarm and Freezer buttons for 10 seconds. That commend does not work. So, I had to uplug it, but the wheels are too cheap, so the frig doesn't move. I had to jimmy a car toe rope behind it to move it out. Still could not open the ice maker two hour and now have to pay for a tech. The labor on this machine is only ONE YEAR. TWO THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLAR PIECE OF TOTAL JUNK. RUN!!! AWAY FROM ANY SAMSUMG FRIDGE WITH THIS PANEL AND ICE MAKER.

                Bought this fridge from Home Depot. Had it delivered in about a week and it was DOA (Dead on Arrival). After several hours the temp had not gotten any colder. Called Samsung support and they had me try a couple things, none of which worked. Then said give it 24 hours, even though the temp had not gone down in over 8 hours. Appears that the compressor is shot or a bad circuit board?? Said they could not get a technician out to look at it for 2 days. Now I am sitting here watching all my food rot because my Brand New Samsung Fridge is worthless. Waiting on a new one but they said it will be 6 days before they can send me a replacement. 6 Days without a refrigerator...Ugh! I now realize how important it is to have a working Fridge. Thumbs down to Samsung! Definitely buy an extended warranty if you buy Samsung. I never expected to use mine on the first day!! Save yourself the frustration and aggravation and buy GE or American is the lesson I learned.

                  Two part review: Part 1 - Refrigerator - This was a gift for my wife. She loves it (so far). Kind of too soon for a critical review, but the fridge works as advertised and is a major upgrade from our top freezer style unit. One work of caution for people living in high humidity locals, is that you may not be able to keep the energy saver mode on all the time (unless you have air-conditioning as well). I notice a lot of condensation on the two French doors where they come together (after I had activated energy saver mode). I deactivated the energy saver mode and now the condensation is nearly gone. There is some very light condensation on the front of the right door. I don't really count that against the appliance, as I mentioned I don't have AC. Part 2 - Home Depot customer service - Very good. I had purchased this refrigerator after much indecision (too many choices). My wife and I finally agreed on an "As-Is" unit or "Open Box" that was lined up with several other units that had various issues (mostly cosmetic from shipping or rough handling). This fridge had all the packing material still inside and appeared to have never left the store (not a reject). The only issues I could see was a part of the metal flashing on the back about a 1" bend like a dog-eared page in a book. The front had a large number of "scratches" on the stainless face on all doors and drawers, but I soon discovered that was only surface scratching of the peel-off protective coating. Maybe the fridge was delivered to a customer house and would not fit the front door, who knows. Over $700 off for being an Open box unit, I bought it. Next week when we took delivery, the contracted delivery drivers even assisted in getting into the house. The HD rep. made sure I understood they only do "curb side" delivery. Anyway, we appreciated that very much and yes I tipped them. So, after getting set up and unpacked, etc. I discovered that 4 screws that hold the door handles on were missing. Okay, no big deal, as I got a good price, I will just have Samsung send them to me. I contacted Samsung service and after emailing prof of purchase, Samsung said they will send the missing screws (still waiting a few weeks). Anyway, I had returned to Home Depot the next day and decided to inquire about the other damaged refrigerators. If there is a too damaged to sell unit and maybe I could have the screws. One of the similar Samsung units had a broken glass shelf and a big rip in the top of the inside lining (must of been a bad delivery day). The sales rep. gave the screw pack to me and simply said; "We will never sell this". So, all went well and, of course I don't blame HD for the missing screws, but do appreciate the "free" replacement screws and the willingness of the HD rep. to be able to make a quick reasonable decision. I will post an update, if there are any changes to my overall rating, and why.

When it came for delivery the Samsung delivery men were horrible, they didn't want to bring it in to my home as I live on the 2nd floor of a condominium and the stairs can be uncomfortable and the delivery men didn't want to make the effort to take it upstairs. After I finally got the delivery, one of the drawers was cracked. I called Samsung and they offered and sent me a replacement drawer. After this there was no issues until December 2016, where the refrigerator started making a loud noise and there was frost building up on the inside of the icemaker. The ice build up prevents the icemaker from making ice. I called Samsung and the advised that Lakes Electronics would be coming out to me. I waited the 48 hours and never received a call. It stopped having the issue for a while but started again in January and this week got really bad. I called today and Samsung claimed to not have a record of me calling, they advised once again Lakes Electronics would call me and they did but this time saying that my refrigerator is out of warranty and they want $99 to send a technician to my house.... When I called while I had my warranty no one called or contacted me and now this... Unfortunately I'm still paying my homedepot credit card for this refrigerator. Nearly $2500 and one year later and I have a fridge with an icemaker that doesn't work and makes noise like a lawnmower.

                    We bought the Samsung 28 cu. Ft. 4 door French door refrigerator in stainless steel. We have had nothing but problems with the refrigerator since we bought it. I definitely would look at a different brand refrigerator! Since we bought it the ice maker has never worked properly. It would crush the ice instead of giving you whole cube. The ice cubes would come out partially thawed. First the ice cube tray cracked. That was $130. I continued to have the problem and contacted Samsung. They would just send an email saying to check for leaks, ect. Nobody got back to me with a real solution. Then the problem continues but now the ice maker freezes up and there is ice froze on the outside of the ice maker and the ice cubes jam before falling into the ice cube tray. I contacted Samsung again and they told me to do the same thing. Check to make sure the ice door is closing, check for leaks, and empty everything out of the refrigerator and let it thaw. NOTHING fixes it!! I am absolutely so fed up with this useless refrigerator. I have to thaw the refrigerator and ice maker out once a month. That is absolutely ridiculous! And now there is a loud humming/grinding noise in the back of the refrigerator. Please save yourself all the hassle that I have had to go through with this JUNK refrigerator and go with a different brand. The refrigerator and ice maker are useless and Samsung customer service is horrible!

                      Purchased the Samsung 28.15 cu. ft French (4) Door refrigerator in November of 2015 out of Home Depot in Roseburg Oregon, according to all the great reviews it was a great purchase love the flex zone drawer. The only thing I wish they would redesign is the milk carton holder on the door needs to be lower so then removing the one gallon milk carton you don't end up breaking the clear plastic. Over all So far so good!

                        I bleed SAMSUNG BLUE!!! I am continually satisfied with the quality, value and support that Samsung offers for all of it's products. The newly delivered refrigerator just BLOWS MY MIND!! Maybe the finest appliance I have ever owned. The finish is stunning and the 28 cu ft is HUGE. Can't imagine why anyone would spends thousands more for so much less. Keep up the great work Samsung!!

                          We have had our fridge for almost 3 years now. We love most of the features. Good storage, simple design, easy to clean on the inside. The water seems to come out a little slow, even after filter changes but its not a huge deal. One of the gaskets ripped a little but it doesn't affect the sealing nautre of the door. The one major issue I have with this fridge is the ice chute. You end up getting more crushed ice on the floor than in your cup. Same goes for cubed occasionally. You have to hold the cup up touching the discharge chute to be effective. There should be a rubber guide near the chute to channel the ice more as it comes out. It is especially annoying when guests are over. 1st world problems I know. Overall we are pleased with the purchase. We do really like the flex drawer, it is perfect for pizza boxes or veggie dishes.

                            This avoids 5 stars due to slow icemaking or non at all and in addition the thing makes all mannerisms of noise which freaks out my wife. Every 5 minutes she thinks someone is in the house due to weird noises this refrigerator makes while making ice that it refuses to dispense later LOL. On the good side I've noticed food lasts longer and stays fresher inside compared to the last refrigerator we had which was top of the line. The layout is good and it's pretty big. Samsung gave us $150 credit for not delivering on time. It cools very evenly despite crowding certain areas and does not freeze areas not part of the actual freezer. Make sure you vacuum under the unit and use a long bristle brush to reach difficult areas to help keep service calls down, always keep the condenser clean . I'm not looking forward to anything breaking on this, I've heard it won't be cheap. So far so good.

                              This fridge is probably the greatest fridge I had yet. It had bright light that light up my kitchen. It also store much more stuff than my old fridge. A little thing I'm sad about is that the fridge section on the first drawer is not sealed. It allowed stuff to move around if there was enough force to move it. I guess I would just want something to keep everything separated.

                                We love the flexible drawer on this model, it was the reason we chose it. Its great for storing casserole dishes, pizza boxes, and all those odd shaped items that take up valuable shelf space. This model has ample shelf space in the fridge, even with the ice make taking up some room. There is very limited door space, however, so if you like to store items in the doors, this is not the model for you. The freezer drawer is also great. The slide out drawer is a great place to put commonly used items, and the baskets below are very open. There are only 2 things I don't like about it. The first is the slowness of the icemaker. It takes about 20 seconds to fill up a 16oz glass with ice. I've had in the door ice makers before, and they are usually much faster. I haven't had any ice jams, however, so that's a plus. The second thing I don't like it that it makes a lot of strange noises. Pops, whines, motors fans turning on and off. Though these are not loud, they are noticeable. Overall a very good fridge. I am happy with my purchase. It is a bit expensive, which is why I waited for it to be on sale.
