Looks great; nice lighting; easy to use; great freezer - lots of space.
Only owned for a few days but thus far, I very much like -- visible from family room and dining area --- very beautiful appliance. Getting used to the motor - it is far quieter than any prior refrigerator but still has a gentle hum.

    Don't buy a Samsung appliance
    Samsung needs to stick to phones, TV sets and computers. Refrigerator construction is terrible. Have had the RF4287HARS for 3 years. Started having trouble at end of first year. Plastic shelves for doors are cheaply made, cannot hold more than some light weight items or the shelf falls out. It cannot be securely replaced in the shelf and continues to be a "falling out" problem, and eventually cracks. Same with the freezer drawer! Also, there is an intrusion of water into the freezer over the last 18 months. I have to remove the inner drawer and melt / get out a layer of ice to be able to close the drawer. The ice forms in a sheet along the bottom and I have removed some pieces that are 3 inches thick towards the back. Two other persons who have a similar Samsung refrigerator have the same complaints on the quality of the performance and construction!

      PUBLISHED SPECS ON THIS REFRIGERATOR ARE WRONG!
      I bought this refrigerator based on the specs published on this website and the information card that was posted directly above the product in the Home Depot store that both state the product has a width of 35.75 inches. THAT WIDTH IS NOT CORRECT!! The space in my kitchen is EXACTLY 36 inches wide and this refrigerator DID NOT FIT IN IT. THE CORRECT WIDTH FOR THIS REFRIGERATOR IS 36 INCHES. The box that the fridge comes in has the correct width marked on it but this website is INCORRECT AND SO IS THE INFO AT THE STORE. IF YOUR SPACE IS EXACTLY 36 INCHES WIDE THIS REFRIGERATOR WILL NOT FIT IN IT. I had to have someone from the store come to my house with a sander to shave the wood frame that surrounds the fridge down enough for it to slide into it. I LOVE the refrigerator but it was a long hard road to finally get it into my house and installed properly. Much grief and frustration could have been completely avoided if the information posted about this refrigerator had been correct. That is the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. Having said all of that it is a BEAUTIFUL fridge and I do love it!

      Very Nice Fridge
      We love this design! Everything is very visible and the lighting is excellent. Everything worked after it was delivered, and there were no surprises. The flexi-drawer is very convenient for drinks and snacks. We keep the fridge free of finger prints and smudges, but I wish they had used a slightly higher grade of Stainless steel for the front of the fridge, like the insides of their dishwashers or the top of their ranges. Would have meant less worry and cleanup. However, I wouldn't take a star off for that. The ice-maker is really good and produces a lot of ice fairly quickly.

        Great Fridge
        We were a little nervous about buying this Samsung after reading other reviews, but so far we have had none of the problems mentioned. It has been fantastic! It cooled down very quickly and is very spacious. We love the LED lighting and having everything at eye level versus having things lower on our old side by side. The ice maker produces ice very quickly. Other reviews have mentioned noise, there is some when it drops a fresh batch of ice but that is common to the all of the ones we have had. We are very happy with this fridge and would definitely recommend it!

        Convenience of the French Door Refrigerator
        We already owned an Samsung side-by-side but we were attracted to the convenience of the French Door design so we moved our side by side to our cottage and bought the French Door model. We love both units.

          Really nice, but horrible Ice maker
          We have had this for over a year and really like it. It looks great, and has all the room you need, plus it helps freeze my popsicles even faster with the power freeze mode. What's nice is that you can keep all the lunch meat and your kids snacks in the smaller middle drawer so they can reach it themselves without asking you to help them constantly. As far as smudges and finger prints, they just don't show up on this like so many other stainless steel appliances. I only have to clean mine when someone splashes food or drink on it, so that's a plus. The only flaw I can find with this refrigerator is the ice maker. Even when you switch it to cubed ice, it still crushes it. I hate crushed ice!! I will say however that the water dispenser pushes water out very fast, so you wont have to wait an hour for a cold drink. The only reason I gave this a 4 star instead of a 5 was because of the ice maker, and the water filter cost $45.00 to replace; hat's a bit steep. Other than that, we love it!

          Solid value, with great features
          Great fridge. Much bigger interior than the old fridge it replaced. We got the fridge in black as it matches the other appliances and bucks the stainless steel trend.

          RUSTED - within a day
          The "Stainless Steel" has rust marks within 1 day of installation. Everywhere the water dripped from the dispenser. I called Samsung and was told it's cosmetic and it is NOT covered. I did additional research and this is a known problem for a couple years

            Love the 4 doors! The middle drawer can be set for refrigeration or freeze mode, plus you can fit a party tray in the drawer!

            Great addition to the kitchen
            This is a quality unit. Plenty of space and nicely placed shelves for viewing of produce. Can't say enough about the lack of noise. It is so nice to go to bed and not hear the sound an ice machine or compressor kicking in. The unit keeps a consistent temperature in the cooler and freezer sections. The flex temp. compartment is a plus and great for deli items and wine cooling. Unlike a lot of other refrigerators the stainless steel is for real, don't try to hang a magnet on it because it won't stay. I have only had the unit a short while but very pleased with the refrigerator fit. Now to customize the placement.

            Tight Fit
            Just had this delivered on May 23rd. We had a 36 in wide opening that was not quite wide enough due to vents on each side at the bottom. We were able to sand a bit to get it in but be careful you must probably have a little more that 36 inches. Height was right on the money but the hinges are deep so even though we though we didn't need to worry about the height of the hinges since it was going to stick out, we were wrong. Good thing we had enough room. Delivery guys were great but couldn't install due to width and we had an inset electrical plug box. We thought it would give us more depth room. We were wrong. The plug is one of those one that the cord goes to the side. Beautiful Frig. see the picture. Almost went with counter dept but decided this size was fine. Bought in store to get my 24 months financing. Only thing so far is watch the height of frig inside, may not work for all. Just had a small milk and had to lift shelf up. Yes we can adjust the other shelves but are going to lose space. We are not real picky about the frig since just the two of us. No problems so far, but it has taken the ice maker a long time to fill up. Again for us its alright but for a party we will definitely have to start saving in advance. Purchased the extra warranty due to some reviews regarding the ice maker. Home depot wont extend it after 5 years but we will see how it holds up. That's why I gave it 4 stars right now as we just got it but thought people should be aware of the size issue.

              Worse Refrigerator I've Ever Owned!
              Worse Ice Maker Ever. I have resorted to buying ice cube trays to have ice. The ice maker gets iced up and won't produce ice. I have 4 friends that also purchased a Samsung Refrigerator and ALL have problems with Ice makers. This fridge will be going into my garage as a spare and am buying a different brand for my kitchen.

                Terrible fridge
                We have had nothing but problems. Ice maker serviced 2x and still doesn't work. The drawer light burnt out so we don't know what temp it is and constantly freezes. The door flap broke and now the water dispenser doesn't work.

                        Poor Design and Support
                        I have had this refrigerator for almost 5 years and I will never buy a Samsung Refrigerator again--or any other Samsung appliance. There are two main issues. First, the ice maker. (If you've read other reviews, you're shocked!) After the first year of ownership, the ice maker began continuously frosting up--the entire back of the ice maker would be solid ice and the ice in the bucket would begin turning slushie. I have had to defrost and remove the ice maker every two or three months. I have taken to turning off the ice maker until I run out of ice--this slows down the icing up, but doesn't eliminate it. I replaced the icemaker unit with a redesign (more on that later) and it was good for half a year, but it has started again. The thing is that Samsung knows about this and refuses to acknowledge the poor design or do anything about it. (Just do an internet search for details.) I found a Samsung Service Bulletin that discusses all the possible solutions to this; the final step was replacing the unit with a (slightly) redesigned ice maker. This service bulletin came out a year before my refrigerator was manufactured--but my refrigerator still came with the old, defective ice maker! This tells me that I cannot trust Samsung to do what is right. Secondly, the middle drawer has the wiring for the drawer in the tracks on the side of the drawer. Over the course of time, the shielding on the wires has become frayed and the controls for the drawer (along with the freezer light) no longer work. And sometimes the drawer doesn't close all the way because of this. Since the drawer still stays cold (I assume at the regular refrigerator temp) I just put up with it. I like the rest of the refrigerator, but because of these two things, I cannot give it anything but one star. I have to spend too much time dealing with something I shouldn't have to think about ever.

                          Purchased this product at in 4/2015. Out of pocket replaced door to chef's drawer. Samsung replaced back panel of interior fridge at no charge. It had entirely frozen over. Ice maker has to be defrosted once a week. Never buy a fridge with ice maker in the refrigerated compartment instead of the freezer. Freezer died 8/2023 due to sealed system failure. Samsung wanted way to much to replace with no guarantee it would work. Too fancy for what you need it for. Just make a few ice cubes and keep the food cold. Tossed Samsung and purchased a very simple and way less expensive fridge. It makes a few ice cubes in the freezer, filters some water and keeps the food cold. Nothing is made to last these days. Already started saving for a new fridge.

                                Could be better for the price
                                Not the usual Samsung quality. Ice maker is terrible. It leaks, and does not produce a sufficient amount of ice to make it through the day for a family of four. The water dispensed comes out warm. Besides that important aspect, it does everything else well and provides sufficient cooling power. All my appliances are Samsung, but I will be more careful in the future when buying Samsung products because this one left me highly disappointed.

                                    Worst appliance we have ever owned! Thank goodness we had 5 yr coverage. Temp display reflects in correctly - frig turns off randomly and temp displays do not reflect actual temperature. Have to turn on/off to get fridge running. After 4 frustrating years we were reimbursed.

                                      We have had this refrigerator less than 10 years, every few years have to have someone come work on it because the top DOES NOT KEEP TEMPERATURE. The ice maker has never worked properly, freezes up constantly. I would strongly discourage anyone from buying a Samsung appliance going forward.

                                          DO NOT waste your money on this fridge
                                          We've had this fridge for 5 years and have had nothing but issues from the start. Constantly freezing over, leaking, you name it.. and now it won't cool at all. The only positive thing I can say is I love the flex zone drawer. I'm hopeful I'll find that feature on a different brand though, because there's a 0% chance I'll ever buy another Samsung appliance.

                                            Ice Maker died after a couple of years. It's too expensive to get it repaired so living with ice cube trays which I have to fill every day. Water is leaking out all over the kitchen floor. Would not recommend this appliance.

                                              I guess I got lucky, mine is 8 years old and still makes ice. Seems the Ice maker hasn't cooperated for others, but I haven't had issues other than needing to defrost the Ice maker to maintain it. Very happy with the overall design and the middle drawer for Wine works great for every beverage favorite!
