For Cool Season grasses (Bluegrass/Rye/Fescue), soil temperatures must be at least 55 degrees for grass seed to germinate. Daytime temperatures should consistently be 65+ degrees. Cool nighttime temperatures and fluctuating temperatures will slow germination. If temperatures have been lower than necessary for seed germination, the seed is still good and will most likely germinate once temperatures warm up. Make sure the ground is still visible when EZ Seed has been applied. If Seed was applied to thickly, seed on the bottom will still germinate, gently water the area for 2 minutes to allow the water to reach the seeds. Continue to water daily as needed to keep the soil surface moist until the seedlings reach at least 2 inches tall. This seed germinates best when daytime temperatures are between 60 and 80 degrees F.
