Pro landscape fabric is not for gardens
I bought Pro landscape fabric yesterday. It was easy to install but it does not allow water to penetrate the fabric. It is definitely not for a garden. I also clicked the link that was provided in the other posts. It was nothing but a chat with a computer bot. It was useless.

    Product Changes?
I am working a landscape job at home. Firstly, I bought the 'Ultimate" landscape barrier and I was sooo happy with it. When I ran out I reordered the 'Ultimate" but the store did a substitute for what they had in stock, which was the 'Standard.' The Standard has got to be the worst product to work with - it is stretchy, and has a somewhat screen-like design. If could clearly see the dirt and rocks below it, due to the thinness, the chances are that weeds will grow right through it. So, I returned the Standard and reordered the Ultimate AGAIN. This time the Ultimate came as a crinkly sounding material which if you look very, very closely has tiny perforations in it, however, it does not allow the water to drain through. Obviously, the original Ultimate I purchased was the bomb, but the other products I received, under the guise of being Ultimate, were crap. I would give the original Ultimate a 5, but the Standard is a 2 and the last Ultimate (if that is what it really was) is a 2 as well. In the picture I am posting, the product barriers I have shown are, from left to right: Far left is the second Ultimate, Center is the Standard and, Far right is the original Ultimate (which is fantastic) Unfortunately my project is almost completed, with three different Scott's landscaping barrier products which I sincerely hope will keep the weeds at bay. I am a semi-unhappy customer.

This product is absolute JUNK!!! Do Not buy! Had it down less than a month and went to straighten out an area and it just shredded in my hands--ripped and fell apart. Also, I have already found weeds growing through it! DO NOT BUY!

this is a terrible product! we laid this down in the front yard before putting mulch down about 3 months ago and now weeds/grass?/dandelions are coming up through it, everywhere! What a waste! we should have kept the old fabric under the old mulch which was doing a fine job keeping the weeds at bay!

You need two layers of this to get anything approaching satisfactory blockage of weeds. I spoke to a pro landscaper and he said you should lay down two layers, and with the grain going in different directions. In the coming weeks I will be pushing aside 35 bags worth of mulch to the side, laying down a 2nd layer, and then putting back the mulch b/c this product does not do what it says on the label.

In January I purchased 3 rolls then applied to my yard after spraying grass and weed killer. Then 2 months later grass and weeds grow throughout my front yard. I will be requesting a full refund so I can use the money to purchase a superior product after I remove all the rocks.

                Water won't penetrate
I installed this as weed control in an area that I had started Asian Jasmine ground cover. I cut it to fit, pinned it and then tried to water the fabric with the Jasmine sticking up thru the fabric. . The water will not penetrate the fabric and just sits there in big globs for hours. I tried another piece to see if it would penetrate if flipped over and it will not. I returned what was left and bought another brand. The statement says it allows water and nutrients to penetrate, don't believe it.

                  A practical, cost effective choice.
I have used this landscape cloth several times. I find it to be a practical, cost effective choice. We recently used this fabric along with a no dig landscape edging kit to prepare an already level site for a large swing set. The fabric was easy to install right on top of the ground and since kids will be playing on top of it we laid two layers. We laid these layers perpendicular to each other. We totally pinned each layer and used a total of about 75 4" fabric pins along with 300 6" fabric pins. The 8” plastic spikes that came with the edging were easy to drive right through the landscape cloth. Due to the rough treatment this edging will receive from the kids We used an additional 65 6” fabric pins to secure the edging, they work good (see photos).

                  Cheap but worthless!
I'd give it ZERO Stars if it were available. This landscape fabric was laid down less than a month ago and it has literally disintegrated. It looked great the first few days but after a few days of sun exposure it self-destructed. See attached photos. ***DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT*** Spend a little more and get a better quality weed guard fabric. I did have to "double-escalate" before speaking to a Home Depot employee who finally understood the situation and offered the appropriate full refund.

                  Medium duty landscape fabric
This product is great for already weeded & non-grassy areas. If covering up grassy areas, spend the extra money for the extra heavy duty stuff. Sharp grasses sporadically poke right up through this fabric. In terms of coverage of fabric to grass penetration, I'd say it's less than one percent. Just enough to be annoying. I'll be buying some grass & weed killer.

                  Terrible, terrible, terrible.
I removed tons of river rocks, weeded, then placed this product down in my planter before covering it with mulch. Super labor intensive work. Within a few weeks, I now have hundreds of little baby palm trees growing right through the weed barrier. What a waste of my time and efforts. I should have used visqueen.

Horrible Landscaping fabric weeds grow right through
I had 3 rolls of this landscape fabric put down under my hardscape both front and back yard. The weeds and grass are coming up directly through the fabric like it wasn't even there it's only been down for a few weeks and has already failed. I'm at a loss of words for how poor of a product this was. I had less grass before putting this product down; it was down to a dirt lot. But I’ve had 42,000 pounds of rock put down on top of this fabric 22,000 pounds in the front yard and 20,000 in the backyard and it all has grass and weeds growing up straight (through it/through the fabric). How are you expected to fix their defective product after it’s installed? Until they respond on how to make this right and if this is just a defective batch; I would have to warn everyone not to buy this product you’ll regret it in the end.

                    A necessary invisible step!
This irrigation fabric is a must to avoid most of the weeds which will try to intrude. It comes in various sizes.

                    worst fabric ever!
I bought this fabric to put under decorative rock. In no time weeds were growing in the rocks like, well like Weeds. I thought the rocks must have too much dirt mixed in with them, but I pulled the rocks away to see, and the weeds were coming right up through the fabric like it wasn't there. I had a path on the side of the house where the fabric was exposed, and the weeds were coming up through there as well. I was showing this to a friend and I grabbed a little section of the fabric to pull back, and it came apart like it was cotton candy. unbelievable how much work it will be to remove rocks and put something else down to inhibit weeds..

Took 1 week for weeds to go right through it
I put this product down 2 weeks ago. About 10 days in, there are weeds growing right through it. It's unbelievable. I spent $1,600 on landscaping services to replace all my mulch with rubber mulch, now I have to take it all back up, put different landscape fabric down, and replace the mulch. I have a support ticket filed with Scotts, but I can't imagine they are going to pay the landscapers to redo the project, which is the only recourse that is acceptable to me at this point.

                      BACK BREAKER SAVER
This Fabric keeps all the unwanted weeds and grass from showing itself and it helps the ground cover settle and stay in place. Before I put the fabric down, I was killing my back every couple of weeks chopping weeds out that made our landscaping look terrible.
