Not safe for pets
My dog won't stop eating the granules. Would not recommend this product. Wish I could give it zero stars

Concerned for pets
Like others who have reviewed this product, we, too, have a dog that will not stop eating the granules. A neighbor's cat was also out feasting on the product. We will be switching to another product, likely liquid, that is safe for the pets but does not provide them with snacks. This risk should be made clear to pet owners who purchase this product. When I saw it was pet-safe, I did not expect the pets to utilize it as a food source! Is there some way to make this product less appealing to them? Seeing as how your product information states this product is not for consumption, it should be made less palatable. This product appears similar to blood meal, which would explain the pets' tendency to want to eat it.

Great option for Pet Owners!
We used this on our lawn in early fall. The grass looks amazing even though Winter is coming soon. We have a dog and it was totally safe with no issues for him! LOVE IT!

Dog got diarrhea
I put this on my lawn three days ago. It rained really hard all day and I thought it had sucked in. There were a few areas where I spilled a little and my dog would not quit eating it. She was up all night with diarrhea. I do not recommend this product for dogs

Beware if you have dogs!
I put this in my backyard because I have dogs. Unfortunately they have decided that it’s good enough to eat. Their poop is runny and smells vile. I have generously watered it but the granules will not dissolve. I haven’t seen any difference in my yard’s appearance.

Better for lungs without chemical order
No chemical order was great for me but our small dog kept eating it out of the grass that was his outdoor area. The next day and night he had uncontrolled stools inside and out so I spent the night taking him out. We watered the product in yet the afternoon applied but not fast enough. My spouse says never again.

Very happy with it!
I was initially skeptical (and hopeful). It’s exceeded my expectations and now it’s my go-to fertilizer. I really wanted something more environmentally friendly and safe for our dog.

Not recommended for immediate use after spraying
My dogs love munching on the fertilizer if I let them out to play after I sprayed it on the lawn (water thoroughly), but they don't seem interested in it if I leave it as it is for 24 hours.

Works really well
I have applied this twice to my lawn, and the grass is much thicker and greener this year. I have a commercial service that also does multiple treatments during the year, but this fertilizer was the first to make a major and obvious difference.

Just What I Was Looking For!
I have been using another Natural Lawn Food for many years and the price and shipping had gotten out of hand. Tried Scotts Natural Lawn Food and found it easier to apply and the grass is already much greener after just one week! The price is right also. Glad I found this product.

Definitely Puppy Friendly, Might Have to Switch...
I bought a big bag of this a few days ago because we recently rescued 2 puppies (roughly 12 weeks old) and I wanted something that would be safe for them since they have to go out frequently. I haven't noticed any "weird smell" like some other folks complain about, but I may have to switch away from this product because my puppies are now trying to eat it. I have to carry them past my lawn because they're too preoccupied trying to get to the fertilizer to actually use the bathroom out there. Maybe I'll try it again when they're fully-grown, but I can't say I'd recommend this product if you have puppies...

Not happy
I used this yesterday and 2 hrs after applying my dog's start eating it. Been up all night with sick dogs. I dont know what's in this but pet owners beware.

Dogs won't go on lawn
I applied this product a few days ago. On the first day I didnt let my dogs play out there, just to be safe. It didn't matter though because once they went out they refused to go on it anyway! They seemed curious about the smell, but I couldn't even push them onto the grass and had to take them to the front where it hadn't been applied yet. It rained the first two nights and they finally went out into the yard for the first time. Then last night one of my dogs was sick all night with vomiting and diarrhea. I don't even know if this product works yet, but I know I'm not using it again.

Dog Snacks
I just bought this yesterday and cannot judge on performance, but I am concerned that my dogs and some neighborhood dogs are finding it way too interesting. One of my dogs won't stop licking the ground and eating the dirt. I hope the ingredients are safe for ingestion. :(

This product made my dog eat the lawn
Purchased and applied as directed. Had a strong smell to it almost like something that was dead and rotten. Never had a problem with my dog using yard for he bathroom. After applying Scotts Natural Lawn Food, she no longer wants to do her business there, but wants to eat the grass. Just returned from vet had her checked, he told me not to use anything that would make my dog a grazer. This stuff mite work, but I would rather buy dog food, more healthy for my little girl.

All natural feeding

Scotts Organic Lawn Food.
This is the Best Organic Lawn Food on the Market. We have used this Product since its introduction. You must give it several Applications and time to have the Lawn adjust to the Product. Stop using all the toxic Chemicals out there.

Spreader Setting Inaccurrate
This might be a good fertilizer if I could get it put down at the right rate. The spreader setting of 10.5 for Scotts Turf Builder Classic Drop Spreader does not put it down at the correct rate. Way too little comes out at this setting.

Dogs too attracted to it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I applied as directed, let my dogs out and they immediately sniffed the entire yard and stated eating the granules. Now every time I let the dogs out I must monitor them. Is there any danger to them if they eat the lawn food? I am not sure I would ever use this again as my dogs health is the reason I bought it in the first place and now they may be in danger from eating it.

Great for a pet yard
I have two dogs that live with us and 4 grand dogs that are frequent visitors. The back yard is large enough to accommodate all of them at one time, however without frequent feeding with Scotts Natural Lawn Food there would be no lawn for them to play on. I have used this product for several years and my back lawn is as healthy as the front that has no traffic from pets.

St Augustine Grass
I would like to see a lawn food that is higher in the last two numbers to help feed my St Augustine grass.
First number makes it green
Second number make it send up grass blades
Third number send out runners and roots
I need my grass to run to keep coverage thick

Great organic alternative
I'm glad to see Scott's offer a great organic alternate to their other fertilizers. The Natural Lawn Food works very well and have used it twice this Spring/Summer. My lawn is green and fairly healthy in spite of the heat. I hope Scott's keeps moving in this direction.

this is the best lawn food ever
I was having a problem with the brown color of my lawn. I tried a lot of different fertilizers to no avail.Then I started to use Scotts Natural Lawn Food. In a month my lawn started to green up again. My neighbors started to ask how i did it. A few of them now use this great product. Thanks scotts.

This product is great value
Been using this product since 2012;this product works well, to activate product faster I recommend watering daily. But it's also good to use as a natural pest control. So try it.... And you tell me
Only downfall is that Scotts don't have a huge variety of natural products and doesn't say on the label what pests it controls.
