    Easy installation
I removed the old valve and measured for the Sharkbite valve. Took just a few minutes even though it was in a tight spot. I love not having to solder pipe thanks to sharkbite!

      Quality spigot, easy installation.
Very easy to install! Flow is improved over the old half inch CPVC connected spigot. Keeping a couple things in mind will make the process go more smoothly. Fist, to work properly this has to be installed at an angle. The spacer is included, but you might have to enlarge your existing hole. Go a bit wider on one side to account for the angle. Second, I would recommend using a mounting plate rather than going right into the wall. Screws are a bit close to the edge of the hole otherwise.

This was my only choice at my local Home Depot and while it was easy to install it is not a great faucet. I have the Moen version of this on another location on my home and I prefer that faucet to this one. With the shark bite it was very easy to install but hooking a hose to it is a pain because the spigot is too short making it hard to get your hand in there to twist the hose on, I only had to install this once, I will have to hook a hose to it hundreds of times. The handle looks cool and has Pretty Dolphins on it providing a positive grip but you have to rotate it several times to open the faucet unlike my Moen that requires just one rotation. If you want a freeze proof faucet wait for them to improve this one or get the Moen. This might sound like the complaining of a grumpy old man, but honestly if the spigot was an inch longer and it turned on with even just two full turns I would have given it 5 stars and recommended it. It really was super easy to install.

Great replacement sillcock for my home and it was very easy to install.
My old anti-siphon sillcock broke and I chose a SharkBite as the replacement. I went with the 10 inch as the sillcock needed to go through brick facade and cinderblock. There was no need to solder pipes, I just coupled the sillcock to the original copper line with a piece of PEX to fill a gap in pipe. As long as a pipe end is clean, you just push them into the end of the sillcock and a strong rubber washer inside makes a watertight seal. The sillcock also comes with a handy gasket of sorts to help ensure you have the proper 5 degree slope in the sillcock (so it drains of water when winterized). (see picture) This sillcock is a multi-turn valve and it takes about 8 turns turns to fully turn the water on/off. This sillcock can be removed from the pipe or tubing and reinstalled elsewhere or if you make a mistake and need to remove/reinstall it. This sillcock comes with a anti-siphon/vaccum valve in the rare event dirty water from a hose or puddle could be siphoned back into your house. The valve washer for sillcock is also far down in the sillcock, just near where you connect pipe to it. Since this portion of the sillcock is usually within you house or wall, it is less likely to freeze. This valve will not protect you from frozen/broken pipes in the event you leave the hose, full of water, and attached to the sillcock. I have used SharkBite fittings throughout accessible areas of my house and no leaks over the last several years.

        Excellent product
I've been a DIY plumber my whole life and PEX with Sharkbite have changed that from a chore into a pleasure. Sharkbite products are excellent. My only gripe with this product is the shim to keep the inclination. My side (like most, I guess) is sloped "the other way" forcing the sillcock to slope UP rather than DOWN as it MUST to be correctly installed. The provided shim was insufficient to provide adequate slope, so I had to build my own as you can see in the picture. And I will need to paint them because they are ugly. Time and effort wasted that could have been solved by providing two or three shims in the package and a couple of lines in the instructions, at a cost of probably less than $1. Even with that, there is no comparison with soldering. PS: even if it's easy as building a lego figurine, this is still plumbing and it will need to hold water under serious pressure. Most people claiming failure, probably did not cut the PEX correctly, or did not deburr or did not push deep enough or did not open the water slowly for a proper test first.

          SharkBite fan for life!
After getting a quote from a plumber to replace 2 leaky hose bibs ($300-400 parts and labor), I did my own research and came across SharkBite which I had heard about before. I watched a couple videos and thought there was no way it could be THAT simple, but I went ahead and bought the SharkBite parts that I needed to give it a shot. Let me say that it was truly as simple as it looked. It took me under an hour start to finish and that included installing a new vinyl siding mounting block for a nice finish. I did get a little lucky because when I cut the copper pipe inside it was the perfect distance to attach the new 12" sillcock so I didn't need any additional connections. I will try to do this on my next on as well. So, I replaced one bib for under $40 total, not including the vinyl mounting plate which was optional. I can't say enough about the SharkBite products and how much money they can save over calling a plumber, if you are willing to do it yourself. My only wish is that the handle was not the ugly blue color. Black or red would be better.

            serious manufacture defects
I recently add this SharkBite valve to my log cabin, I was not pleased when I turned on the water supply. The faucet valve was closed, yet water was running right out of it. After disassembly, I discovered an o-ring jammed on the wrong side of the valve seat, a trashed spring, a very bent o-ring seat, cut up rubber washer, mangled o-ring retainer. I have many more pictures, but HomeDepot win’t allow me to post more than one. :(

This is, by far, the easiest sillcock replacement I've ever done. Tired of waiting for all the water in the house lines to drain, then hoping none was there when gluing or soldering in the pipes? No need to worry with this unit. Our house had no valves on any of the 4 bathroom and 2 kitchen cold water lines which would have meant waiting for quite some time for all the water to drain had I been gluing or soldering. With these Sharkbite units, you don't need the lines totally dry. Just cut, bevel and insert. Done. No waiting for glue to dry. No hoping your solder job wasn't ruined by a trace of water. I've used several Sharbite products, and, so far, they have all installed leak-free and continue to function leak-free. It took less than 30 minutes from start to finish on this project, replacing a sillcock that had frozen shut with lime over the years. As one would expect on a potable water line, my pipe was CPVC. Worked perfectly with the unit. Unlike my older failed unit, this unit has a built in plastic wedge (see picture) that ensure that the downward angle coming out of the house is set properly. The anti-siphon feature is pretty standard on these units these days and expected on a unit at this price point.. The length is good, putting the valve seat well inside the house insulation on our typical end joist installation (see picture) On the non-functional side, this unit is pretty cool as well, with stylish blue handle formed by 2 jumping sharks (see picture). Very cool. All in all, this unit is well worth the cost. The reliability and ease of installation make this the perfect sillcock for any DIY'er. I highly recommend it.

Another excellent product from SharkBite.I have run 2 new outside hose bibs with their products including cutting in to existing lines inside the house . Used SharkBite couplings and elbows to run new lines to area where a new hose outlet was needed.Drilled a hole large enough thru band joist to accept sillcock and secured with screws. Connected all the parts and was done. No leaks and no drips noted inside or at the hose connection.Sharkbite products enable homeowners to run new lines, repair existing in emergencies without the need to solder.

I like the SharkBite plumbing fittings because you don’t have to solder the pipes together. I can solder pipes if they are good and dry but sometimes it is a challenge getting all the water out of the pipes. Soldering is also difficult in hard to access places where there is flammable wood or insulation close by. I have used SharkBite fittings before and they are still doing fine years later. Also they are easier to take off and reuse if you want to reconfigure your piping later. Another plus that I just saw in the description online is that you can rotate SharkBite fittings, which can be really important in some applications. I’m not sure why they call this a sillcock and not a faucet because as far as I can tell they are the same. It looks like a nice fitting. It is going to be a while before I can actually install it. It is supposed to be installed with a 5 degree angle down to the outside. It has a 5 degree wedge to go on the outside of the wall to help maintain the angle and fit it snug to the wall, which is good. I’m not sure why they have the handle a bright blue color. I will put it on the front of the house and it might distract drivers driving down the street! SharkBite fittings are easy to use but they do cost a lot more than regular fittings if you need to use a lot. Silcocks are expensive anyway so the difference isn’t so great but if you need to use a lot of elbows or straight fittings then SharkBite will cost a lot more. If you are doing new work with a lot of fittings I wouldn’t use SharkBite but if you want to add on a few fittings to existing plumbing they can definitely be the way to go. One little tip for installing an outside faucet. Make sure you don’t go too crazy with the insulation on the inside of the house. The inside end of the faucet where the shut off is needs to be in heated space so make sure you can see the end from the inside of the house. That should still give you a good 6” to insulate and even more on a longer faucet.

I’m another one of the many who after less than a year on a rarely used faucet these are not shutting off! Knob is completely turned off, yet it leaks non stop. All support is saying is a copy/paste message, but it would be helpful if you let us know how to fix it here! Thank you

Easy to install and use. DIY'ers life saver. Old pipe in garden froze because hose was left attached in a cold night. It was soldered in, instead of screwed in, which made it more difficult to remove the old pipe. This Sharkbite Sillcock valve was excellent replacement and very easy to install because the reattachment location is very tight, and solderingagain will be difficult, not to mention unnecessary. Highly recommended for DIYers.

This sillcock only lasted 10 months for me before it needed rebuilt. The rubber washers inside wore out and quit flowing water. Had to disassemble just to see worn out parts. On a seldomly used hose….
