Customer Reviews for Stanley FATMAX 5/8 in. x 100 ft. Professional-Grade Garden Hose

I absolutely love this hose when I first purchased it about six weeks ago. It is soft, flexible and virtually kink free. This morning, while using it, the end separated completely, and there is no way to put it back together.

Used the hose twice and the end that screws onto a hose bib delaminated from the hose. Dont get me wrong the product is nice/lightweight and durable looking but now it’s useless to me.

Like other reviews the male end of my hose came off and it is useless to me without being able to attach a nozzle. I use this hose to water the garden so not heavy duty use. It is less than one year old. Very disappointed in this product that is supposed to be TOP QUALITY with the most advanced technology. I hope customer service will address this product malfunction immediately.

I bought this hose a year ago and was very happy with it until yesterday, when I discovered that the fitting that attached to the water source had separated and cannot be put back together.

I bought this in the spring paying over $100. This week the end of the hose popped off. It seems to be a common problem. It is difficult to find the Stanley Customer service site.

We bought this hose about a year ago to use for regular lawn watering. It seemed to work well until this week it sprung a pin hole leak & we could see that the hose was very swollen along much of the length, looking like it was about to burst. It seemed quite stretched out of shape. We have always been careful not to leave the hose out in the sun longer than necessary, or to turn off the sprinkler end, causing pressure on the hose. We bought this thinking the Stanley name would have some guarantee of better quality but it has failed on us and has to be disposed of. Of course we don’t have the receipt so will be out of luck even if any guarantee would cover such an odd failure. I would not recommend this hose.

I bought two of these, and have just received a refund on one of them within the store return window. As has happened to multiple others below, the twist collar blew off. It is impossible to reattach it. I am left wondering how long the remaining Fatmax last – these are certainly not the forever hoses that I thought I was buying. My primary use to water the garden - one hose in front, one in back. Yes, presumably I can get some kind of a replacement or refund if the second hose end blows next year given the lifetime guarantee, but what I want is a hose that I can rely upon. This is not that hose.

The end has somehow twisted on the inside ,I'm guessing a manufacturer issue. How do I get a replacement since it's under warranty

Hose was good. WAS. End broke off. Have only had 13 months. Is there a warranty? A refund?

I loved this hose when I bought it but unfortunately after using for 6 months male end broke off now it’s useless to me .I also wish I had read reviews about this hose beforehand.

Bought 2 months, looks good until same happened with first review, hose end ( connect to Nozzel) separate from cramping.

The end of the hose popped while watering plants with no way ro re attach.

This is the second Fat Max hose that I have had to replace ends on.

Bought this hose because it appeared to be great quality. However it leaked from just below the black cover that is attached to the end of the hose. Took it back and exchanged it for another one no problem, brought the second one home and this one leaked from the other end! Took it back and got my money back and bought a $65 one that does not leak. Too bad because the Stanley hose seems like good quality, just too bad it leaked..

Will someone explain to me why only after 1½ years of ownership, does this happen to a yellow hose. Does anyone else have a "banana hose". My grandson has nicknamed it "the Banana hose".

Loved the hose until the male end popped out of the compression fitting after only one season of use. Even though the hose was purchased in June of 2020, being in a Northern state I might have used it for four months total.

I bought this hose and it lasted maybe 3 months. I bought the 100 foot knowing I only needed 65 feet to make it last not pulling on it all the time. To my surprise the hose brass male fitting separated from the hose collar. This was on the end connected to the house, just the normal water pressure burst the end. Warranty process is impossible since Stanley's site leads to the wrong contacts who then run you around.

I bought this hose July 8th,it is now june 20th. It didn't even last 6 weeks. Tried phoning the number for the warranty, they tell you that they should be open(monday to Friday 8am to 4:30pm)then they tell you to have a pleasant day and hang up. I guess I'm out a hundred dollars. The hose's end blew apart ( I guess I'll see how much water I lost when the water bill comes in)

Great hose! Not entirely "kink-proof" but much better than the cheap plastic garden hoses. Goes onto our hose reel very easily, and was offered at a great price for 100'. This hose is used and recommended by our Master Gardners, and so far so good. Not terribly heavy when empty, but a bit unwieldy once it's got some water in it. Using a hose reel with wheels and spigot quick-connects makes this super easy to move around and use anywhere in the yard.

I had to cut off five Black Max hoses when freezing weather was predicted because the hose bib fitting had galvanically corroded itself to the brass facuet. The plastic outer sleeve just slips around and will not put enough torque on the fitting, and one one of them, where I broke off the plastic sleeve, the fitting broke radially and left most of itself still galvanically correded / welded to the brass facuet. I will have to replace all five facuets in order to put new hoses on them.

I’m always using my water hose, washing ice chest, boots, and bugs off the front windshield! And I bought this new one and it has mildewed bad !!

Useless hoses. How this is "professional grade" is beyond me. First one, the end blew off. Second one twisted bulge that then ruptured. Orbit warranty service is useless. Keeps you going round in circles until you want to give up.

We have two of these hoses in the 50-foot length. Both hoses have had the ends blown off with normal household pressure. Both are less than one year old.

Le produit me paraissait bien a l achat mais après peu d utilisation l embout mâle c est déconnecté du boyau et peu pas le réinstaller. Pas terrible comme produit et le service après vente semble ne pas être mieux. Je leur ai écrit mais a part me donner des numéro de requête, il ne se passe pas grand chose.

End of the hose cracked after a month's use.

Great flexible hose and avoids kinks however, the end of the hose blew off under normal household water pressure. This is the same issue noted in many of the reviews.

Bought 2 fatmax hoses both ends have blown off within 6 months. Bought hose because of the reviews on the hose and they are great except for this flaw, now I have 2 useless hoses as I can’t return them.
