quality product and ease of installation

This Chimney Cap is pretty But is also very difficult to tighten onto the chimney. My contractor tried everything but we ended up having to get a different chimney capthat would fit more snugly. This cap was loose and top heavy even with the boltstightened well. It just would slip and slide.

This cap was easy to install and is attractive in comparison to some others.

Good quality cap however it does not come with weldnuts. The screw threads into the metal. Called the company and they said they don't use the weldnuts anymore. Big mistake. Had to buy stainless steel nuts one on the outside and 2 on the inside double nutted.

It's a nice cap and reasonably priced, but the sides do bow when tightening. Where the screw go through the sheet metal is only a single layer of metal. Amazingly the single layer of metal did not strip out while tightening. The cap should have been designed with a welded nut on the in side.

Looks to be made of good material nice but only time will tell how well it holds up

The cap was way to large for my opening

The chimney cap is well constructed and of a good quality. However, the opening for my chimney is oval and the attachment bolts are too short and flex away on the curved part of an oval chimney. The cap would fit great on a rectangular opening, but needs modified to hold properly on an oval.

The Forever Cap E Series 8"x8" Chimney Cap was easy to install. At this time, it has been in place for less than a month, so I'm not able to give much of a rating of its endurance or performance. I am hopeful that it will perform well over many years.

It is good and met all of my requirements. Easy to install.

The size was wrong and I found a replacement elsewhere, nothing HD had available would work for me.

Fit perfectly

Our chimney cap flew away with Hurricane Matthew after 36 years on the job. Our neighborhood handyman measured the flue finding it to be 12 x17 in. I ordered the E-series 13 x17 because it is adjustable. He had no problems installing it and added some epoxy around the screw holes for extra insurance

Although the description said it fit chimneys 15.5 X 15.5, I had to do some modifications to make it work.

Well worth the extra cost for SS and healthier wall thickness especially in the area of the tightening screws.

The chimney caps arrived early, installed easily (other than having to go up on the roof}.

I bought this chimney cap after repointing my chimney . It shipped in less time than anticipated , which was nice because I was able to finish my project earlier . The product is good quality . I gave it a 3 out of five for two reasons . The size of the base was a little larger than 17x17 , more like 18x18 . Wich was fine but a little big . The second reason is I had to buy longer 1/4 20 stainless steel bolts . I also bought an additional 1/4 20 nut and lock washer for each bolt to ensure the will not back out . I drilled 1/2 inch wholes in my brick for the bolts to sit in so the cap has a little extra support on the chimney . The cap fits over the entire body of the chimney , I think it looks fine .
