This single cylinder commercial heavy duty industrial deadbolt by Universal Hardware is a really good value at just over $30. It looks nice in the bronze color and comes with a lifetime warranty. Easy to install and comes with everything you need for different door options. I a have installed a few of these and have not had any issues with durability or function issues. I would use this lock on a multitude of areas whether it be commercial or personal.

This is a heavy duty, industrial strength dead bolt for those that are serious about security. This is an easy security upgrade to replace existing locks, or install new with the included template. Made to ANSI Grade 1 standards. This is made for doors 1 3/8" to 2" thick and a 2 3/8"- 2 3/4" back set. Features an indoor lock/unlock knob. Comes with 2 keys ( 6 pin, so it is slightly longer than most house hold keys). Has a square edge plate with included heavy duty hardware. Comes with a full lifetime warranty.

Right off the bat you can notice that this deadbolt is heavier than the regular type bolts. The bolt appears very strong and the mechanism is sturdy. The installation is fairly straightforward, the main issue with installing these is getting it configured for your specific door. This came with clear instructions which made it easy to determine how to change the length of the locking mechanism and have the bolt faceplate seat correctly. I am hoping this lock will give me great service for years to come.

This deadbolt was used to replace a malfunctioning deadbolt on which the key no longer worked. The kit came with a selection of strike plates and a strike plate box and all of the necessary installation hardware needed for a complete installation. It also came with two working keys. The instructions were step by step specific for the installation and included templates for cutting door and strike plate holes if necessary. The existing door and strike plate holes in my door matched this kit perfectly which made installation of the deadbolt a quick and easy project. The long strike plate installation screws, strike plate box and strike plate provide a strong degree of security protection for this entryway.

A heavy duty deadbolt! The lock side of this deadbolt alone weighs just over a pound. Mechanisms are smooth. The lock has a good feel to it. The deadbolt itself has the steel insert that appears in the better locks. The lock has the typical adjustable backsets and door thickness adjustments. Should be a good lock and last a long time. Matches my other levered door handles,

The dead bolt is good quality. I obtained this dead bolt to replace the existing one I had on our steel door. The metal on the flange of the dead bolt is thicker than the one I had. It is nearly impossible to increase the depth of the notch in the side of a steel door. I ended up using the dead bolt from my existing lock to complete installation. This would be fine for a wood door, but if you have a steel door, be sure to check the depth of the notch in your door.

This Universal Hardware Industrial Single Cylinder Deadbolt is fantastic. It is truly a heavy duty dead bolt. I do believe it would be hard to mess with as the package states it is 'vandal resistant'. But besides being so sturdy and durable, it's beautiful. I love the aged bronze finish! The color pulls things together in my entry way as the light there has an aged bronze finish. It comes with two keys. Installation for me was easy after I made some adjustments with the opening for both the deadbolt and the slider hole. I had to drill and sand out just a little bit of the wood in the door and the frame as my old deadbolt and slider was a little shorter than this one. The back of the inside knob has a really nice plate which plays a key role in the operation of this dead bolt. This is something that my old dead bolt did not have and that I appreciate in this one. Everything went smoothly even tho I did install it upside down but I like the key hole at the top. The keys work great. No glitches or catches, etc. This is a very good quality dead bolt that should last a long long time. It is a definite upgrade for the house too, in the aged bronze finish. A good value for such a solid, heavy duty deadbolt. Highly Recommend!

I was happy to replace a gold deadbolt with this modern bronze deadbolt for an updated look. It wasn't a super easy switch out since the hole of the previous deadbolt was a different size, but with some tools I was able to make it work. When handling the deadbolt, I did drop it as the center part slips out. Be careful with that as it almost landed on my toe, and it did make a small dent.

This deadbolt feels like it weighs 5+ pounds. It is well made! Looking at the packaging information gives you confidence because the claims include: 1/4 million cycles, vandal resistant, FULL lifetime warranty, and fire resistant for up to three hours. It IS heavy duty and I can't use it!!! I need a two cylinder unit (keyed on both sides). BUT I'd use it in a hearbeat (if I could). Deadbolt comes with ALL hardware needed to install: i.e., the deadbolt, strike plate, screws/bolts, two keys and instructions. I did NOT pay attention when getting this product and realized too late that its a single cyclinder lock. That being said this is a nice unit and I'll keep for future project.

Better than I expected! Took no time (15-20 min with removal of previous deadbolt) to install out of box. Clear instructions. Everything required for installation was included. Need to repaint area as larger deadbolt was taking this space. Works very smooth. Looks solid and high end. One advise: include more keys as 2 keys for the family of 4 is not enough (yes, no problem to make extra, but factory made will always be better). Highly recommend!

The Universal Hardware Commercial 2-3/4 in. Single Cylinder Satin Chrome Heavy-Duty Industrial Deadbolt was very easy to install. The internal lock is adjustable to hole size. Perfect fit and the deadbolt works and locks right on. You want to make sure the door jam lock is adjusted just right so when you shut the door both the deadbolt lock and door jam meet exactly to get a clean smooth lock.

This is a very secure and heavy duty deadbolt. I found that the installation was rather difficult as compared to other deadbolts I have installed. It was very hard to line up the two screws that hold it together. It took several attempts to assemble it. Once assembled it runs very smoothly and the bolt has quite a bit of lubricant already on it. The outside facing parts are heavily reinforced against cutting and twisting.

Easy To Install - Quality and Secure. We were looking to increase our security of our building. The previous locks were flimsy at best and were loose and just didn't feel secure when they would wiggle while you were unlocking them. We updated our locks with both single and double cylinder locks depending on if they were located near windows. It was a piece of cake to swap out the locks with what was there before. These locks are nice and snug. The deadbolt locks and unlocks very smoothly and has taken care of my concerns with safety.

This Universal Hardware single cylinder deadbolt feels of solid construction and design. With an INDUSTRIAL rating I expect to get a great deal of abuse from a lock of this caliber. The satin chrome finish is bright and subject to eye appeal.. This lock set will accomodate a door up to 2 inches thick. The backset can also be adjusted allowing for a 2 3/4" striker configuration rather than the standard 2 3/8" which is a knuckle-buster on jambs between knobs.

Attractive deadbolt and relatively easy to install but note that it may not fit into steel storm door openings. I had to make some adjustments to the deadbolt to get it to fit. That would not have been an issue if I would have been installing on a wooden door where I could've easily widened the slot opening on the side of the door. Other than that it seems heavy duty and should do the trick, plus it looks nice. Overall pleased with product.

Heavy Duty, " UNIVERSAL HARDWARE COMMERCIAL 2-3/4 IN. SINGLE CYLINDER INDUSTRIAL DEADBOLT "! This lock set came 100% complete with every screw and part needed for an easy install into an existing lock set. The Lock is tough and heavy. The Keys are able to be reproduced at any key place. The finish is great because it is not shiny which I always recommend. It stays clean and no prints. Easily fit in my existing dead bolt slot with no modifications needed.

This is the first time I have bought a lock from Universal Hardware and my first impression overall is very good. A little over the top with the use of "Commercial", "Heavy-Duty" and "Industrial" deadbolt in their description but i guess whatever works. I have installed many of these kinds of locks and this one does seem to be heavy duty and made with quality materials so I would be surprised if it gives me any issues over time and use. The fact that it comes with a limited lifetime warranty is also an attribute that I like but hope that I will never have to use it. Plain looking but it is designed to be used for commercial use as stated.

I installed this product on my exterior "He Shed" double door entry with no difficulties to mention and all parts were included as required and instructions included with pictures were very clear and easy to follow.. I installed the deadbolt lock in about 10 minutes. Luckily for me I did not need to drill any holes, the door factory holes were a perfect fit. The deadbolt lock is of good quality and I have no complaints. The product is made in China but just about everything is anymore.

These COMMERCIAL 2-3/4 INCH SINGLE CYLINDER HEAVY-DUTY DEADBOLT is sturdy and strong. The bolt hole has a plastic backing hole insert to go behind the metal cover. The deadbolt is easy to install and it has a metal insert that goes into the center of the door between the two halves of the deadbolt. This is a very good quality deadbolt. This deadbolt looks great installed.

This is the single cylinder version of the double cylinder deadbolt sold by the same manufacturer. I like this lock from this manufacturer simply because of the warranty offered. It is rare for such a lengthy and generous warranty but shows the confidence this manufacturer offers in all their locks. The lock comes with everything needed to complete the install including directions and drilling template. All that is required are simple hand tools along with a drill and a 2-1/8inch and 1-inch diameter hole drill bit to complete the install.

It was a great product. I valued the adjustability and its universal centerpiece. I used the strike plate as well. I parted it out. I have spare parts now.
