Heartbroken at result after countless hours sanding antique desk. I am skilled, experienced, followed directions, worked quickly, but this product set up SO quickly and inconsistently—it left streaks, marks and blobs that I couldn’t move after just seconds! Can says “1 coat application recommended”—will it get even worse if I try to do another coat!? Please do not ruin your project like I ruined mine. Use separate stain and poly!!! Took a chance to save time. :( Never again!!

This poly-stain product is amazing. It is such a time saver to not have to apply a coat of poly after you get done staining. It cut the production time considerably. It was very easy to apply and it gave me confidence that I could tackle any staining project. I will ALWAYS use this product in the future.

This water based stain is amazing!! Super easy application and doesn’t have a nasty strong smell. No use of coasters required! We have never had water rings or stains on our furniture. And super easy clean up! I can’t say enough good things about this product!

This is an amazing product i love it!! If you follow the directions like they say you will be happy with it i used a spung brush after i completly striped the old finish then vacumed the wood put first thin coat on let dry light sanded with 200 foam pad wiped clean with damp rag let dry put second light coat repeated for a total of “4” coats the last coat you do not need the sand you can put more or less coats depending on your desierd color my cabinets came out beautiful be sure you “FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS TO GET THE RIGHT RESULTS YOU WANT” people are complaing about they’re own fault for not using the proper directions it just bothers me to read all of them even the people that were happy still said some negative things do it the way it says to and the product container

i got this product to paint a wood drawer for my daughter, and the finished and color is terrible!! i lost my money and time with this product. Now i need to expend more money to try to fix the drawer. was a clean wood without previous color.

This stain is excellent! I love it! I usually use traditional stain and follow with polyurethane. I opted to try this stain as an all in one. Happy I did. Easy to apply, very low odor, and excellent coverage. Not sure about the protective coating factors as the project is just completed. I give it 5 stars this far.

It was very easy to apply and dried quickly to the touch. I just cleaned the surface removing any furniture polish or dust. I waited a couple of hours in between coats just to be safe. I used it on the bed in my guest room, I wanted it to match the wood flooring and espresso decor I purchased. Two coats was just enough to get the look I wanted.

Put 2 coats on a old handrail and it came out better than I expected.

I like a nice rustic look to the wood. The first coat did show brush strokes i wasnt too concerned bc im using for pantry shelves We decided to do a second coat after that it looked more like paint than stain you couldnt see the wood grain anymore

color came out red tones

It’s a great color and sounds like a good idea to do stain and clear coat in one but beware! You must get it super even and no drips anywhere or it comes out really uneven..

I've always used Minwax but Home Depot stopped carrying it so I'm giving Varathane.

Wanted a water base stain for my floor. This is to soft and scratched to easy. Waiting to see what happens after I put polyurethane over it.
