junk
I used twice about 2 months apart and it didnt finish the second job. Both times was to spray privacy fence. When it worked it worked fine dis the job, but its like a disposable model. I would not but this particular one as it is junk. I used it residential, maybe 5 gallons of paint through it and motor went out.

Built ins.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just completed some oak built-ins and applied the stain/finish with the new 350. It worked exceptionally and cut my finish time in half. I had my doubts when I first received the new 350 but after 5 minutes into the project I became a 100% supporter of the 350.

There are a few things you can do to paint/stain to ensure it sprays well.
1 - Stir the paint/stain with a mixer in a drill until its creamy smooth, about 1 min per gallon
2 - Strain the paint/stain before it goes into the sprayer
3 - Add a flow agent, like Floetrol or Paint Easy (this is not a thinner) for latex paint – Penetrol for oil based
4 - Or you can thin, even as little as 5% can make a big difference, water for water based materials and mineral spirits for oil based material. Up to 20% is fine.
Also, the Control Stainer series are designed for spraying thin bodied materials, like stain. Unthinned paint will struggle. Our Flexio HVLP series are meant for thicker, latex paints for around the house projects. Contact us directly with any other questions at 1-800-328-8251.

Not recommended
The spray is too thin and very minimal area coverage. The box says medium surface coverage but it will not do as well as a regular paint roller.

Our Control series of HVLP, including the Control Stainer 350, are designed for thin bodied materials, like stain. Paint would require thinning for use with this family of sprayers. Only complaint is minor leakage around the edge of the stain container. Otherwise, worked great for applying stain to a shade structure.

Thanks for your review. You can lubricate the foam seal with some petroleum jelly or mineral oil and it might swell up and seal better.

This product is good quality. It is advertised as capable for use with solid stain. This is true, however, my experience is that solid stain needs to be thinned for this product to be able to spray it with a reduced chance of clogging the spray nozzle, otherwise the chance of clogging is quite high. I am happy with the product!

The first thing to do to any thick material you want to spray is to use a mixer in a drill to stir it up. After about 1 minute per gallon, the material's consistency will change and will look smooth and creamy. This will spray better. Good luck with your projects.

The sprayer was easy to use and clean up after use. Sprayed lattice board and spindles on deck and this sprayer did a very nice job. It was a good investment for what I intend to use it for.
