As lumber dries, you should expect slight changes in width and length as well as it may split, cup and warp. So, if it’s highly important that your wood look a certain way, we recommend hand-selecting your pieces at your local store. As lumber dries, you should expect slight changes in width and length, as well as it may split, cup and warp, as these are all natural occurrences of wood. If your project calls for precise measurements, be sure to check your lumber before purchasing.
