The plate is labeled backwards, just put #4 where one is and #1 where 4 is and I would be happy

Did not function to control my ceiling fan which came with remote control, it appears the wall control unit is not “universal” as described under product information

I hate that this switch is backwards. "1" is the highest setting, and "4" is the lowest.

Not well made

Was always hard to operate and clicking mechanism was shoddy from the start. Item ceased working after 7 months.

fan switch works well as advertised. I found that the control is sticky. the slider doesn't slide up or down easily.

Works well, but the high speed for the fan is #1 and low speed is #4. A little strange.

Technically, the controller works well. My issue is that, unlike the photos shown, they have silk screened the name Westinghouse, in black and full size, onto the switch itself beneath the knob. It stands out as a sore thumb with the rest of the designer switches in the gang. I have need of four more fan controllers and am not sure if I want to purchase this brand, along with its obtrusive ad banner again. If you don't care about aesthetics, it is a good value. Consider sand and buff for classier installs.

Switch installed easily, but it’s basically a three speed switch. High, medium, and low the last speed barely moves the blades. Very dissappointed in it, but it will work for now.

Westinghouse has their name printed on the front and it looks tacky. Other than that the fan switch works like it is supposed to

This item is mislabeled. 4 is the slowest, 1 is the fastest. I returned it. Lots of other buyers have this issue also. I urge everyone to return it if it is mislabeled. Maybe the manufacturer makes up its mind this way.

Difficult to move up and down and emits loud popping noises with sparks as it moves from speed to speed. Cheked all connections to ensure they were tightly secured and evens re-installed on another fan. Same Problem..... Waste of money and time! Would encourage my friends to stay away from this product.

I bought two of these. The fan takes a 3 spd fan and converts it to 4, not by adding an extra speed but by slicing into the existing 3 spds and turning them into 4. This slows down the original medium speed which is the one I most always use---not happy about that. Kept the one wired up and returned the second.

Fantastic product. Large slide button is easy to operate.

I'm not sure I hooked it up properly, I would think that level 1 would be slow, and level 4 would be fast, but the operation seems backwards to me

Perfect switch for our ceiling fan. Was easy to install.

I wanted to be able to control fan speeds w/out using the pull chain that was out of reach to everyone in the household. The switch installs easily, replacing an on/off toggle switch. The wall plate provided was on the small side, exposing a small perimeter of wall covered by the original plate and requiring some cosmetic work. The switch has a positive 'off' position and selecting one of the 4 speed options is not very smooth, but achievable. We keep the fan motor switch set to medium and the 4 speeds provide air movement from quite slow to medium. The slow speed is especially useful in the winter when you want to circulate the hotter ceiling air w/out feeling a breeze on the skin. Changing the direction still requires a chair or ladder assist, but that's only 2x/yr. Happy w/ the operation and performance. The way the fans were installed by the builder, the lights on the fan are operated by a separate switch. So do note the switch does not control lights.

I like the controls except for one strange thing. The numbers are opposite to what I would have thought. 1 is the highest setting, 4 the lowest. It's not the way in which it is connected, tried both ways. Just doesn't seem right?? The lowest setting gives the highest fan setting. Not what I expected, or had with similar products in the past.

Excellent. Product at a reasonable price..Easy to install, looks great,functions as advertised..Turned my 3 speed ceiling fan into a 4 speed fan...Great!!!

For less than 15$ this is a just what I needed. It works not much more one can say about a fan control.

I've been looking to make it easier to change fan speeds in rooms with high ceilings. I'm not a fan of those long chains, but the prices of the wall controls I had seen were prohibitive. These were the best priced units I found and they work great
