My water test strip went from the top end of the scale to the bottom end within a week. We now have soft water and the dishwashers are scum free. This unit is so quiet you would not know it is there.

I used this water softener to replace an older 2 tank model. This one takes up less space and is easy to use.

I purchased this a month ago, was impressed with the reviews, most of them anyways. I noticed that in many reviews that the units came damaged so I was careful to watch the delivery man when he delivered it. He was very careful with it and put it in my garage. I then “very carefully” put it in position in the crawl space ( mine is 5’ high), checked it over and found that the plastic bolt that holds the Brinewell to the salt storage tank was broke. I fixed that, got her all set up, plugged it in and yep, nothing on the screen. Thought after us being so careful with the install, how can this be. Kept plugging it in and unplugging it hoping this would do a reboot but no, then I happen to see a red light thru the back of the upper unit so I took off the whole top covers and low & behold, there was the mother board, it had broke loose from the face of the control cover and was laying tucked in the back of the unit. I put it all back together, plugged it back in and the clock was racing like the death clock you see in the movies. Again I did the plug/unplug to reboot and after a few tries it started to act normal. I was having trouble with rust in my well water, I have three pre-filters iSpring 50 micron, 25 micron Culligan and a 5 micron Culligan and with the addition of this water softener I get crystal clear water with no rust left behind! I checked the water for clarity by filling the whirlpool tub, it’s bright white and before when I filled it the water was yellow, now it is crystal clear. I believe from the reviews I read and my experience with this unit that Whirlpool should sell this unit as a DYI shipped in pieces and lower the cost and let the buyer put it together. It would be better than spending so much time troubleshooting to get it to run! I gave it a two star rating because of all the trouble I had but as of now the operation of it for my application is a 5 star, we’ll see how it goes down the road, keeping my fingers croassed!

So far so good, nice and compact. Looking forward to see how it is in a few months.

The one we purchased two years ago came apart near the top. After sending pics of the issue, Whirlpool fedexed us a new one with no problem. The stood by their product.

I bought a new water softener was installed and we found the main board was defective. Went on line and emailed the customer service And with in 3 days had a new board Went and bought another one a week later for my rental thank u

Bought this softener a few weeks ago and I am very pleased with the quality of water we now have.

We installed the Whirlpool water softener a month ago, the water quality has obviously improved, no small particles (calcium residuals?) was found from the water. Though there was little salty taste (it's so minor and noticed by few of my family members only) with the water initially, but gradually it's not noticeable at all. We believe this will bring good to our health.

Been in service for about three weeks now. Seems to be a solid unit that definitely uses less salt than my previous one. If it keeps working as it is now I will be very happy.

I purchased this product because I live in a mobile home that has limited space. It has been a great product so far, does what it claims.

I installed myself pretty straightforward and easy! Programmed !its working great so far . Only had it a month.

I love the water softener. I purchased and. It hooked it up directly to the existing water line as the old softener was a Kenmore and the Kenmore is really a Whirlpool, basically the same style and ours lasted approx.18 years

Our old water softener failed this past summer and I started looking for a replacement. I chose this Whirlpool 40,000 grain. Reason was it is compact, easy to install, instructions plain and simple for an old boy like me and with new technology no soldering. All push connections along with the Shark Tooth connectors to hook up to the copper piping. We are very pleased.

Ordered this online and full disclosure, if you can purchase locally I recommend it as the shipping can potentially cause issues with the product. In my case I had to remove the control valve (easy with many videos for reference) to reseat the orings to stop a leak. Installation was straightforward. Use shark bite fittings to connect water softener to home pipes. I replaced a 17 year old culligan system and what a difference in water quality!

It's been only ~1 month since I installed the water softener, and so far so good. I have put a whole house filter before the intake, to minimize possible issues with the softener. I would suggest that for future softeners, there is a button to press to enable a backlight in the LCD display as it's hard to see its content.

Our last water softener use to sound like a rushing waterfalls. This whirlpool softener is so quiet. What a surprise. We love it.

The first unit I bought contained no Orings or a pamphlet regarding the extended warranty. I returned it and the other was complete.

Bought 2 months agi. Take no Space, really quiet when it dors à backwash. Économie on thé salut consumerions.

Bought this to replace a Kenmore unit that lasted 23 years. Installation was straightforward except this unit is taller than my old Kenmore and bypass valve inlet spacing is different so had to use braided flex lines. Bypass valve is very robust so should last. Really like the tank light feature. Built like my old Kenmore so I expect a long life...

Very Frustrated to have purchased this Softener and am now unable to use it. I damaged it by hitting it and breaking a housing. A simple part to replace if it were available. Nobody online has any parts. RIDICULOUS!!

Only installed it a couple of days ago. Our well water has a total hardness of 547ppm and the iron is 4.7ppm. we are very happy thus far. Note to mention the inlet fittings are 1 1/4" .very difficult for us to find 1 1/4 to 3/4 pex adapters.

Its gteat to have soft wster again I see a wonderful diffetence in tne softness of my hair and clothes.

My Whirlpool lasted over 15 years now i need new one. I plan to get another Whirlpool

I bought this unit to replace an older Culligan water conditioner. It works as advertised.

works much better than our old sears softener,and it worked really good,for about 10 yrs ,just decided to retire it .

I bought this unit to replace an identical one that had been in service for over 12 years. Since there were only minor changes made over the years, it was a very easy replacement. Everything "plugged in" with no modifications needed.
