Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, and CFLs for recycling.
This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot has sold to Trex in the past. This is used for composite decking materials, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.
Since 2010, we have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates. This commitment extends beyond our stores to our communities, as well as the environment. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Read more about our commitment to economic responsibility.

Can I get a live Christmas tree if I have allergies?
If you're set on buying a living Christmas tree, the eastern white pine tends to be easier on folks who are allergic to trees. However, it depends on the individual, the severity of their allergies, and what trees they're allergic to. When pine allergies are the culprit, try a spruce tree, white fir, or cypress. Wash your tree with a hose and dry it off with a wet/dry vac before bringing it inside if possible, and find out more on how to choose the best live Christmas tree for you. As any type of real Christmas tree might trigger allergies for some people, you may want to get an artificial Christmas tree instead.
