How do I rent tools or trucks?

Can I rent tools by the hour?
You can rent a tool for four hours or more. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small home improvement projects may only require a short rental period, and long-term jobs aren't a problem either. You've got options to rent tools by the week, month, or day, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When can I bring the tools back?
It's fine to return the tools early if you complete your project sooner than predicted, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any grime and dust from the tool as well. If you need the tools longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
How long can I rent a truck?
Rent a moving van or truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Remember to factor in the drive between the store and the job site, as you'll need to return it to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the contract and terms and conditions before selecting a vehicle.
Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you return it. Note the original fuel level when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that same level. When you don't refill the truck, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
