A: Hello, Sandy! Yes, it has a removeable tank that you can fill from the top of the water tank. - Sylvie, AIRCARE
A: No, the slim part with the handle lifts off the machine, then you fill it at the sink and return it. Be sure to re-seal the cap, or it will leak out. A single fill will fill the lower tank, and a second fill will hold the water in reserve until the level is low enough that it needs more. Remember to seal the cap properly and put the tank in place properly, or you could end up with water on the floor. This happened to me once, and I have learned my lessen. But, be careful not to over-tighten the cap, as it might break the plastic.
A: This humidifier uses a side mount water tank. Bring tank to water source. And fill tank on the back side down. With rotating cap to hold water in tank. I find that this tank usage is very efficient. The tank can be filled twice to fill reservoir. Blessings.
A: No
A: I don't use casters. I place the unit on a large step platform. Blessings.
A: Hi, Patty. The casters would assist you in moving the product. –Sylvie, AIRCARE
A: No, but why not? They make it easy to move around for cleaning.
A: The unit is made to be portable, so I installed the casters. Looking at its base it looks like it does need the casters to sit properly on the floor as there is a part of the unit that goes lower than the base and will not let it sit flat on the floor level. It needs to be level to work properly.
A: No, they are optional.
A: Hello, Card! Yes, you can run your unit 24/7, plus please keep in mind if your temperatures are freezing or below freezing outside, please set your humidity level from 25% to 35%, and run your unit on high fan speed for most of the day, or at least for 3 consecutive hours, this should raise your humidity level and the number on your display will reflect the change. We recommend that you decrease your humidity setting when the outside temperatures are freezing or below freezing. As the temperatures start to rise, you can increase your humidity level to a recommended setting of 40 to 50%. If you have any other questions or concerns, please email us at knfo@essickair.com. -Melissa, AIRCARE
A: As it gets harder to maintain the selected humidity the motor gets noisy as it changes to higher speeds and then quiets as it lowers the speed. It also makes grinding noises when it runs continually, but those noises go way after the motor stops for a short period of time and returns to a normal noise level when it starts back up. My unit is about the same age as yours, or maybe a little older and it still runs and does its job humifying the air in the house. Sounds like typical running noises you're experiencing as compared to my experience. I wouldn't worry about it. I have my unit set on "A"uto and 45%. Tasking for this past Artic Cold wave but that only lasted 2 days of extreme lower temps and the unit ran continuously the past two nights. Now it is back to cycling like nothing happened.
A: It all depends upon the fan speed you choose. On Auto, it'll vary and sound really loud when it kicks up to the highest speed... Mine is going non-stop and has been for more than a year. I keep it on the lowest or second lowest speed rather than Auto...
A: Hello, Jack! We do not know your KW ratings, but you can obtain that information by following the below formula. Multiply the Watts (high speed) used by 24 hours a day. That equals Kilowatt (kW) Divide that by 1000, and that make kilowatt hours (kWh) Then multiply that number by the cost of a kWh. Your carrier will list the amount on your bill; however, the average is $0.13. If you have any other questions or concerns, please email us at info@essickair.com. -Melissa, AIRCARE
A: Hello! We recommend filling the base or bottle with cool tap water only. -Melissa, AIRCARE
A: not sure if warm water would be much help as it will cool while sitting in the tank. My house is 1300 sqft and can only maintain 45%, trying to push for 60% it runs long and loud. We found 45% comfortable. Recommended range: 45-55%; 60%+ may cause condensation on your windows. We found humidity in the 30's allowed static electricity on rugs & dry skin.
A: As soon as the fan turns on the vapor coming out will be close to room temp. It's only big enough for one medium size room. Return it and install a humidifier on the furnace.
A: Hello! This humidifier is easy to clean. -Melissa, AIRCARE
A: It’s easy to clean. Just mix a couple of cups of white vinegar with water in the base and let sit for 30 minutes. The filters are really good. Buy the generic though because they are much cheaper and made by the same company.
