Q:Does this fan control humidity or only temperature?

Answer This Question
A: A fan can only control temperature in the immediate sence, but if your attic is under insulated or not insulated: lowering the temperature in the attic will also help reduce humidity caused by cold air conditioning air getting into the attic and mixing with hot humid air and turning it into water that can cause mold and rot in the attic. Generally speaking, without the other necessities though the fan will not be enough to control the humidify.

Answer This Question
A: The hole in the roof is 15" diameter, the same as the one it replaced. The cable from fan is terminated in metal box that contains the thermal switch that turns on the fan when the attic temp reaches the temperature you set. You run your power cable (Romex), to this box. In one youtube video I watched, they connected the fan to a plug ended power cord, after they cut off the receptable end to strip the wires for connection to the fan's metal box. They did this so they could pluig the fan into a nearby outlet, but stated that their fan's instructions said don't use a power cord.

A: It is built to be hard wired. Run a dedicated circuit to the supplied thermostat. Included in the fan is protected wiring from thermostat to fan motor. Cut 10 inch round circle throigh roof sheeting. Fan has approximately 16 inch flat metal base that fastens to the roof sheeting
