Q:We removed old 1'x1' vinyl tiles from the subfloor which has left some (very thin) adhesive residue. We plan on putting Lifeproof lvp over the floor. Could this product be placed directly on top of the subfloor with residual adhesive?

Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for this very important question. As there is no way of knowing what the "old 1'x1' vinyl is made of in addition to the adhesive you will need to use a 6 mil. poly moisture barrier over the sub-floor prior to using LifeProof Universal Underlayment.

            Answer This Question

A:  QuicPrep Universal is designed for use with click lock floating laminate, engineered hardwood and LVP. It is not for use with nailed down hardwood. Please contact your hardwood flooring manufacturer for what if any underlayment can be used. Additionally QuicPrep Underlayment is the only underlayment warranted and approved to be used with LifeProof LVP in Canada.

A:  This is supposed to be for floating floors. Not sure if nailing it down would defeat its purpose though.

A:  Hi yes I would think so. But you have to make sure your floor is flat. Plus you should lay out a area of the tile to test the flatness. If perfectly flat then lay it out and then seal it. Don’t be to sloppy with the sealer it drys fast!
