Answer This Question
A: Thank you for reaching out, Luis. While Rust-Oleum Parks Pro Finisher Sanding Sealer can be applied to previously finished or stained surfaces, it has not been tested for compatibility with other brands. We recommend first applying a small test application, to ensure the results are desired, before applying to the entire surface.

Answer This Question
A: Thank you for reaching out! If the texture is only happening in one or certain areas, then it is likely something on the surface is causing a reaction or that area is experiencing grain raise. For the best finish with Rust-Oleum Parks Pro Finisher Water-Based Polyurethane Sanding Sealer, you want to ensure the surface is clean, dry, and sanded as directed. If grain raise occurs, you can smooth it down by using an oscillating buffer with #120 or #150 grit screen. This will also abrade the surface of the sealer to ensure adhesion of the finish coat.

Q:Should multiple coats of this sealer be applied to a red oak floor; the floor was stained, had to be sanded down to the bare wood. If multiple coats are necessary, should I sand with 220 grit between coats? Thanks :)

Answer This Question
A: Thank you for reaching out! Typically, only a single coat of our Parks Pro Finisher Sanding Sealer is needed to seal bare wood floors. We recommend sanding after the first coat, to ensure the adhesion of either the next coat of sanding sealer, or the polyurethane top coat. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 2
