Q:If 28" is the inside bottom diameter, what is the outside top diameter? If 28" is the outside top diameter, what is the inside bottom diameter? If 28" is the nominal diameter, what are the inside bottom and outside top diameters?

A:  26 inches is the bottom ad 28 inches is the top. There's no big difference between inside and outside diameter because the pan thickness is only gauge #24

      Q:I don't understand the measurement in the spec's for the drain adapter? They state "Includes a PVC male adapter fitting for 1 in. - 1-1/2 in. drain pipe". Whats that mean, fits 1" pipe, or 1 1/2" or both? Judging by the pictures it seems to only fit one.

      A:  It's a 1-inch PVC male adapter. Only one adapter is included in the package.

          A:  Easy for 2, in garage, flexible hoses at top for IN/OUT? Turn off power to heater, turn off incoming cold water, connect garden hose to drain, run it outside, open facet & drain, lift tank, slide pan under, lower & fill tank, close facet, power heater.

            Q:Rheem Gladiator Platinum EWH (55g 5500W) 22-1/4" diam tank, incl Leak Detection. OK to use 24" diam Alum Drain Pan? Rheem specified max 2" Depth for pan. Why it matters? Water level is determined by Lower rim of drain pipe fitting anyway!

            A:  Better off using 26". Spec's state 2" Minimum and the 24" only gives you 1 3/4 inches. It might hit the drain, because it sticks out inside the pan a ways. I would think the height of the pan should be OK.

                  Q:The 30" Aluminum Water Heater Drain Pan lists the top diameter of the pan as 32". Is this the outside diameter of the pan or the inside diameter of the upper lip? Also, what is the thickness of the aluminum?
