Q:is the power reverse a safety issue? I am a little concerned about having the mower coming towar...

Answer This Question
A: First of all, it does not move that quickly in reverse and secondly, you have to have your hands on the handles to make it go into reverse. By the time it gets to you, your hands will be off the power switch, so there is no chance of you being run over. The rear wheels must be touching the ground in order for it to operate. if the rear wheels are up, it will not go in reverse.

A: I've used mine for six months now and I will say NO. The power reverse is not nearly as powerful as the power forward. Mine seems to spin those front wheels as much as it pushes back at me; I'm actually a little disappointed in its effectiveness. I also use a Toro Super Recycler and I like the power reverse model much more, and its quite a bit cheaper to buy. The high rear wheels a re a nice plus.

A: Thank You for your question. The PoweReverse mower operates in reverse only when you are pulling back on the handle and walking backwards. As soon as you release your hands or stop actively pulling the handle backwards towards you, the mower will stop. The reverse speed is also slower to help users feel more comfortable when moving backwards.

A: yes

A: obviously as a safety precaution you should, but I don't. They do make a mower where the blade disengages.
by|Aug 6, 2019
A: Yes, it does shut off completely when you release the power bar but it starts right up again with no problems.
by|Jun 12, 2019
A: Yes, you will need to release the blade-control bar and that will shut off the engine. To prevent having to restart the engine, you will need a mower with the blade stop feature. You can view one at https://www.homedepot.com/p/Toro-Recycler-22-in-Personal-Pace-Variable-Speed-Gas-Walk-Behind-Self-Propelled-Lawn-Mower-with-Blade-Stop-System-20333/100659636.

A: It swivels up and down not a set height. For me the lowest it would go was still a little to high so I removed the rubber stops. Im only 5-6

A: The handle bar position does not lock into place. It has a range of motion. There's no way around that. It's a nice feature though, It naturally adjusts to you height (within a range) or to changes in the terrain you're mowing. I don't think this one goes as low as my TORO Super Recycler does with its three discrete positions for the handle bar. So I have two mowers. This one is easier to mow with than my considerably more expensive Super Recycler.
