In theory, the project (use case) that you propose is possible, however, both 1K and 2K spray polyurethane products are not rated for UV exposure, accordingly, a weatherproof (water/UV) barrier/coating is critical to the products performance in a sun/weather exposed environment. Once fully cured, the foam would need to be covered/protected with a rigid physical/protective barrier material, such as exterior rated sheathing/siding to prevent exposure. A:  Thank you for posting your inquiry. DAP Touch 'n Foam and similar low pressure closed cell spray polyurethane foams are only code approved for a maximum application thickness of 2", accordingly, an R20 rated application would not be possible to achieve with the use of this product alone. To achieve an R20 rating, 2" of DAP Touch 'n Foam low pressure foam would be applied, allowed to fully cure and then supplemented with batt/loose blown/board insulation to achieve the final desired R Value. Alternately, professionally applied high pressure spray polyurethane foam could be used. A:  Hi There is no smell as this dries almost instantly. So this will cover 200 board feet so that's 200 square feet at 1 inch thick. I hope that helps, Bob

The Touch 'n Foam Professional 2-Component Spray Foam Insulation Kit, Model #4006062600 that you reference, contained an HFC propellant. Due to new environmental regulations that took effect on 01/01/2021, all HFC propellant containing insulation kits were banned for sale in California (and several other states). Completely reformulated kits were developed to meet this new environmental regulation. The DAP Touch ‘n Foam Professional Low GWP Foam products (kits) are formulated with an HFO propellant to meet low Global Warming Potential (GWP) requirements and include no HFC’s. As indicated in the product usage instructions (as well as online video resources), under Section 3: Shutdown and Storage between Uses: Partially used foam kits can be reused within 30 days of the initial application by adhering to these instructions: 1. Close the cylinder valves by turning clockwise. 2. Do not drain chemical from the hoses. 3. Push the trigger safety into the locked position. 4. Remove the used nozzle, but DO NOT DISCARD. 5. Wipe the applicator barrel with a clean cloth, making sure the chemical exits are clean. Do not use solvent. 6. Apply more lubricant to the O-ring on the applicator barrel. 7. Re-attach the used nozzle, which will prevent air and moisture from entering the hoses. 8. After 7 days of non-use, remove the used nozzle, dispense a small amount of liquid, then wipe clean and re-seal with the used nozzle. 9. Store partially used products at room temperature (60°– 90°F / 16°– 32°C) in a dry area. Do not expose to open flame or temperatures above 120°F (49°C). 10. Products must be re-warmed to 70°– 90°F (21°– 32°C) before re-use. Failure to strictly adhere to these instructions will result in reusability issues.
