The one that came with the swamp cooler lasted a year with minimal use so we had to buy this one. Hopefully this one will last 3 to 4 years like it's supposed to.

The motor has a loud hum looking for a better motor

the motor will not run on high-speed sounds like it draws more power but gives me the same motion as low speed

motor functions well as expected. Wire connection was easy.

This motor seems to work fine, however there’s a lot of vibration and noise. I’ve checked and double checked the tightness of everything and that’s definitely not the problem. I’ve tried adjusting the belt tightness multiple times, and that doesn’t do much either. It just seems like the motor itself is loud and rattles. Next time I’ll try a different brand even if it’s more expensive.

This motor had a short in its high-speed windings, from the first day. It would pop the breaker immediately. I swapped it out for the higher quality 1hp motor at Home Depot, and that motor has run perfect for me.

I hope that this motor will last more than two years, that is how long the last motor worked. The USA needs to re start making its own products.

The direction of rotation Cannot be reversed. However I didn’t accept that and attempted to reverse the polarity of the start capacitor and found that the capacitor was integrated in the winding and was inaccessible. In the process I was able to see the “build” quality of the product and was not impressed. The product appeared to be built according to pretty low standards and designed have super low manufacturing time. A bonafide “quantity over quality” product. I’m sure it serves it purpose in a light duty application, however if your expecting long and reliable service life, I have my doubts that this product will meet those expectations.

After 20 years I felt it was time to replace my cooler motor after noticing a slight clicking sound coming from my 3/4 hp 2 speed Emerson blower motor. This Dial 3/4 hp 2 speed motor makes a loud humming that can be heard throughout the house. The motor works it just has a VERY annoying HUM. I doubt it will last long. Very disappointed.

It was underpowered for the application it was sold for. I had to change pulley size to get it to work at all. Very disappointed

Great product, would buy again as this particular motor will last seven to ten years without any problem. This is a backup for a swamp cooler 2 speed fan motor.

Terrible about three of them there they all burn out within a day or two need to recall

I know, 2 stars, but I recommended the product..the first one quit after about a week. We returned with no hassle and got another. My husband installed #2 motor and there was a lot of noise. It’s an old cooler and he thought it was the bearings so took everything apart and replaced those. Noise increased exponentially over 24 hr use during severe heatwave. So he took it out, returned #2 and got the 3rd one! FINALLY, a motor that doesn’t sound like a jet engine in our house. Don’t appreciate the multiple trips (1hr each way for us) and lousy quality but this 3rd one seems good after 3 days.

I’ve been waiting a month for the cooler to show up. Don’t buy from Home Depot

Got one of these for a replacement evaporative cooler install. The shaft was seized up right out of the box. Ended up using the old motor so as to not delay the contractors. They noted that they have seen a lot of this of late.

It was unusual that there was no oil fill on the motor.

This is the third one of these that I tried on my cooler and all three were junk. The low speed was really slow and the high speed would not work at all.

Motor appears to be reliable, at least so far.

This is the whole machine and while we have to purchase many of these in the past, it was great to have it as a recommendation item with the Cooler, that if you read the description you would read, No Motor included. So instead of searching for one, I 'm glad it was there, and I have it on file for future references for this particular job site. Thank you.
