On smaller windows dryer to tighten wasn't needed. On very cold metal window frames tape would not stick, needs to be above 40° but clear packing tape did work.

I was very pleasantly surprised by this product. I has to assemble the plastic myself and was worried that I would have trouble getting the plastic air-tight. Once I applied hot air to the edges, the plastic sealed and I can no longer feel cold air coming in through my window. Also, I can hardly tell that the plastic is covering the window, it is so clear and wrinkle-free.
