If you have more than one faucet, buy one cover for each faucet. They are durable and designed to last.

Will these handle Michigan winter without being able to shutoff the water supply to the spigot?

Risky… (Ohio here) best option is to get a frost free spigot that has the actually valve inside the house. As long as that part is inside the house you would be ok, just shutting it off outside. You still need to disconnect hoses and let them drain…

I believe there is room to wrap a rag around the spigot, tape the rag on and use the cover. If you can't turn it off inside and don't have a newer house this is your best bet. Newer homes have the spigot that shuts off inside the house.

Purchased when the temps in the south were getting very low as I wanted to protect my spigots. I like that they have a soft foamy point where it hits the house and that its a hard plastic material. Secures easily to the spigot using a soft rubberized rope with a cinch on it.

I purchased this right before a winter storm hit the area. And I am so glad that I did. It worked exactly as described.

During this most recent ice storm when several people I know had their pipes frozen, and there were dozens of trees coming down due to the weight of the ice, we never had an issue and even had icicles hanging off of the insulator while underneath was dry. We have these on every outdoor spigot at our home and rental. Have for using them for years. We upgrade every now and then for added security.

We really like the hard exterior shell that protects the insulating styrofoam core. Fits to our brick nicely with the foam edging, and does a great job. Easy to install. We usually get a few years out of them before the UV and weather (or we) damage them.
