Better than expected

I have only had this operational for about 2 weeks so it is difficult to tell exactly how effective it is but so far it seems to be working as advertised. I coupled this with a 3 stage water filtration system and installed it outside at the service point on my house. It went together easily and with no leaks. The water seems softer but it will take a while to see really how effective it is.

Had to buy 2 separate female adapters and 2 shark bites to hook it up to my 1/2 " water lines. Instructions were poor and the unit would not install the way they recommended! The instructions did not state that you had to cement the given pieces in order for the fittings not to leak! 2 Years?

It's not what I expected we still have staining and a smell . Not a water softener . Would not buy again and won't be buying a replacement cartridge filter . This was a waste of money

I was very skeptical but me and my kids can both tell a big difference in the water quality it's not hard but it's not that slimy soft saltwater you get with a salt softener. Would buy it again in a heat beat. I'm on city water if anyone was wondering. I got two if them one for my hot and one for my cold water side.

I think the filter is working as depictedin the information. When I shave and rinse the sink the wiskers wash away easily. Prior to installing the filter much more effort was needed to get the wiskers down the drain they tended to stick to the sink.. I bought it to protect a tankless water heater(to keep minerals from stinking to the heat exchanger) only time will tell.

Product arrived with very little information included. I called the company to ask questions and I ended up knowing more than the person I spoke to just by doing internet research. She couldn't answer my questions and I didn't have confidence this product would do what I needed so I returned.

Overall, I haven’t seen much improvement at all on water spots in the shower, disherwasher, etc. I would say this system is only good for ensuring hard water doesn’t build up in pipes or faucets/showerheads.

Seems to be doing what it is supposed to. Dishes are coming out of the dishwasher cleaner and without hard water spots. Not only is the lime scale build-up in the appliances (most notably the dishwasher) halted but it appears to be removing some of the build-up from before the Aquasana was installed. I can feel a slight difference in the feel of the water in the shower. The only drawbacks so far is that we did lose some water pressure but it's only noticeable in our house at the kitchen sink. The pressure is still more than adequate. I don't notice any pressure loss from the shower. The only other drawback that I have noticed is that changing the media filter is a bit of a pain because you can't drain the water in the Aquasana reservoir prior to unscrewing it so it can be a bit messy. Make sure you have a bucket underneath. Not too big a deal. It would also be nice if there was a way to tell when the filter needs changed. It's supposed to be good for 60,000 gallons if I remember right so I'll just have to watch the water bills on usage. We'll see how that goes. Overall, so far, I'm very happy. Installation for me was a bit complicated because I had to go from copper to PVC on one side and pex to PVC on the other. I am a pretty experienced do-it-yourselfer so, with a little ingenuity I was able to get it done without too much trouble. Depending on your particular installation and experience level with plumbing or lack thereof, you may want a professional to install. I've seen where others have reported issues with the connectors being cheap and leaking but I'm not having that issue at all. Could be user error.

Bot for scale on tankless Water Heater but is also softens water somewhat

The description for this product clearly states that it DOES NOT take the hardness out of the water, it simply changes the composition of the calcium to where it passes through the piping and fixtures, rather than sticking and corroding elements and such. We wanted something to do just this, as we have very hard well water and wanted a tankless water heater. It works VERY well for this purpose..the VERY SAME purpose and function that is CLEARLY STATED in the description. I always check reviews before buying products..unfortunately you have to ignore over half of the ratings because of very ignorant consumers who just assume that a product will fulfill all of their wishes. Read the descriptions before you buy something, and certainly don't downgrade a product because it doesn't do what you want it to do, yet still does EXACTLY what it claims to do.

I thought everything about this is quality However, the mounting bracket provided leaves the filter housing unstable... it flops way too much

This softener has somewhat improved my well water,, but clearly has not solved the water hardness problem. Dishwasher results in cloudy glasses, etc.

This just another filter. Does not soften water. I was hopeful but doubtful. I was right.

I wanted a source of softened water to feed my 50 gal bait keeper and be able to wash my vehicles. This unit is a complete flop. I even added a full house water filter in front of the unit. The water was clear when the tank was filled and after sitting for a half hour the water turns a rust color. I tried running the water for a good half hour to see if the softener had to be flushed No success. The cost of the unit is money wasted and i need to check and see if a gallon of minnows are alive.

This product seems to work for removing scale and lime. I haven't noticed any lime build up since I bought it

The water softener works well enough to be worth the money. Skin problems and soaps problems ended once installed. The water won't be as soft as when salt systems are used (referring to the actual feel of the water). I recommend a whole house filter in line with it after the softener, the filter seems to catch more lime and iron in that location.

Good Value compared to similar softener/filter products at considerably higher prices, easy installation.
