I don't make a practice of writing reviews, but I thought Columbia Forest Products deserved kudos for this product! I could not source mahogany veneer plywood locally, so was both surprised and grateful to find this on HD's site. I could not be happier with the quality and value. While one side is the finish side, I sometimes had to look carefully at both before ripping! The finish side grain is very nice, I saved the nicest grain patterns for door and drawer fronts. The 10, 3/4" sheets I ordered arrived in perfect condition, well packaged and well protected on all sides (I was actually able to use one of the 1/2" sheets used as packaging as a drawer bottom!). I finished the material with a custom stain and semi-gloss polyurethane, intended to replicate rosewood. The plywood perfectly matched the color of the hardwood trim when stained. As my cabinets were 21" deep, the 2' x 8' sheets worked well for me. I made the cabinets in four parts, stacking two per side for a total cabinet height of 14'.

While building a dovetailed blanket chest out of solid African Mahogany, I needed a piece for the bottom panel. I ordered the Columbia Forest Mahogany plywood (This listing was for the 3/4" plywood but has since changed...) and it was really nice, especially for the money and how fast it was delivered. There were no voids on the different layers of the plywood and the faces of the veneer were spotless. Color was great and took the varnish really well. Highly recommend and will be buying again when I need Mahogany plywood.

I ordered this for staircase/shelving unit for my tiny house. I had them custom cut to the sizes I needed. It arrived nicely packaged and the delivery speed was super fast!! They were very professional and contacted me to let me know when to expect delivery. The quality of the wood is amazing. It was so beautiful, I almost didn't want to put the stain I'd picked out on it! I will definitely be ordering from them again for my next project.

This is a great looking wood.
I found with out a vary fine tooth blade, this wood seems to develop a splintered edge.
My self I did not run into voids so much as the other reviewer did who has issues, but I did run in to a different issue.
Upon cutting it i seemed fine at first, but then warped over night and not like a little warp but a crazy fun house warp.
we had to cut a entrance way and 2 ' windows' out
So we glued it down to a second sheet with gorilla glue, and let them set over night with the weight of cinder blocks on it.
upon removing the cinder blocks, it just popped off the ground, like ha ha, you did not stop my warp.
and it was warping in different directions at the same time.
so around the doorway we screwed in place 2 x 2 's and 3/4 inch plywood aground the windows and all of the sides had to be screwed into place.
In the end it worked, but for all of the extra work, due to its warping, it was both the first and last time ever using this product.
This is the wood with the green door in it in the picture.
I used it for the first wooden bearded dragon house I ever built.
For all of the head achs, I would go with a nice 3/4 or 23/32 AC plywood in the future and did.

The appearance was much better than I expected. Only had one "void" in the lamination and since I had to cut to size, it was easily bypassed. Packaging was very good and only one small "ding" on one corner, which was cut off anyway.

This mahogany ply is exceptional. It was very straight and I love the inside plys which are made from poplar. Poplar is a very good wood for drums so I get a very good sound combined with a good look from the mahogany veneer.
This plywood has a nice uniform look to it. Grain goes the length of the 4 side'. The other side gives a look of boards butted up to each other. Easy to cut with a table saw or hand held power saw. The plywood takes a stain nicely. Plenty of strength in this plywood with just the 5 layers and the two veneer layers. I haven't seen any gaps in the edges of the plywood layers on this one.
This Mahogany plywood is a very good looking piece of wood, Has good grains on the finished side of the piece. Awesome to use on any project you may have. Once it is stained it would bring out the grains even more. The finished veneer could be thicker. There is not that much room for sanding. I am not sure if this is common. This ships very well. All 4 corners were in tip top shape and very sharp still
My first impression from the web listing was that this panel would work nicely for the bottom panel of a blanket chest that I am building. I took a chance and ordered it; the price was right and there is nowhere to get quality mahogany plywood anywhere near me.
The packaging was done very well and the panel was protected nicely in foam.
The panel was not completely flat, it had a slight bow, but nothing drastic.
Upon inspection, one side of the panel looked ok, but the other had several spots where the veneer had been sanded through to the next layer by the machines that processed the panel (see photos). Since this was for the bottom panel of my project, I only needed one good side, so I kept the panel and decided to use it.
When running my hand across the panel, I could feel slight undulations on the face. After cutting the panel to size, I could see why. There were many voids in the panel the had been filled with what looked like biscuits. These filler pieces were wedged in and pushed the outer layers further out making waves in the panel (see images). I'm guessing this is why the veneer was sanded through.
The real pain came when trying to set the panel in the groove around the chest case. I had cut the groove to 23/32" around and tested with the panel prior to discovering the wedges in the voids. The panel fit just fine with the test. Once cut and the poor areas exposed to the edge, the panel was over 3/4" where those wedges were located. This made it a real challenge to install as it was not a consistent thickness.
I guess you get what you pay for, but I was hoping for something a little better. Unfortunately, this was the only option in my area.
