This PureBond Walnut Plywood Project Panel features plain-sliced veneers cut from natural timber harvested in a sustainable manner from American hardwood forests, ensuring premium quality, lasting durability and enduring beauty with each sheet. Fortified with a yellow poplar core substrate, the layers of this 3-ply panel are glued together with a cutting-edge PureBond technology derived from soybeans-an environmentally friendly, formaldehyde-free solution that is water-resistant and will not emit airborne contaminants. Precision-cut in 1/4 in. x 2 ft. x 4 ft. panels with burr-free edges, this decorative walnut plywood is perfect for smaller woodworking projects and serves as a cost-competitive alternative to UF-laden plywood, which is prone to degrade indoor air quality over time by off-gassing toxic fumes. The strength and flatness of these panels gives DIYers and professional tradesmen the confidence to construct a variety of cabinet-grade gems for a lifetime of dependability and enjoyment.

The veneer itself is fine but the plywood sheet is bent enough to give any serious banana a run for its money. And the plywood is not bent because of shipping but because it was poorly made -- I'd guess the veneer (applied only on the one side) was properly dry when applied and so shrank to yield the generous curve you can see in the photo. The second sheet I had ordered was was also wildly bent but had the benefit of a full-width split right across the middle, the two sides being held together only by the veneer, making the sheet flatter than intact one but just as unusable. If you purchase this plywood you may well end up wasting your time waiting for it only to have to return it. Its garbage, basically.

Generally good plywood, some really nice looking pieces every once in a while. I have been using it to build some furniture where I add thin strips of solid walnut as edge banding. The most recent couple of sheets I got have some large voids, but this is the first time I've seen that. The face veneer is always nice, you do get some bookmatched or repeating grain. Occasionally there will be some figuring in the veneer.

Not Perfect but Very Good
I needed two panels to make a 24 inch vanity as a Christmas present to my wife. The sides, drawer fronts and bottom shelf are made from this plywood. Both side would have been usable with different grain patterns but there was a slight raised imperfection in one side of one panel. There was very minimal sapwood (light color streaking) in the plywood so it took stain quite well. I was tempted to use the free cutting service but decided I might adjust a dimension and waited to do both rips and crosscuts myself. I used a 5-1/2" 100-tooth blade on a battery operated circular saw for crosscuts with a track guide that I made from 1/4 plywood strips. Rips were made on my table saw that has a small tabletop since it is a job site saw. Both types of cuts were successful with virtually no splintering. The wood veneer took stain uniformly without a conditioner. I chose a golden oak stain knowing that even a fairly light stain would turn walnut pretty dark.

This arrived curved which was disappointing. The middle is poplar, the bottom ply looks like oak or cherry? And the top is walnut veneer. Despite being curved, I was able to fit the cut piece in the slots at the bottom of a walnut serving tray to straighten it. The end result looks really good I just wish the plywood was flatter.

Accurate size, some color variance
I purchased 3 sheets of this plywood. It is very accurate to size and will work well for my application. There is some color variance on one side of two of the boards but the other side is perfect.

This plywood was slightly thinner than 1/4" specified, but that did not affect the project I used it on. It came packaged extremely well and damage free, which does not always happen when purchasing a product such as plywood online. I wanted it to be slightly darker than the natural finish so I applied a stain primer before staining and it came out perfect. No streaks or blotches. The only complain I would have is that the piece I received showed a distinctive line where the veneer was applied, but it did not affect the final product enough to complain about.

These are high quality Walnut boards
The boards were straight and easy to work. I love the poplar core which is very good for acoustic purposes since I make drums. Beautiful grain and the veneer is thick enough to be easily sanded with 220 grit sand paper without eating through.

Product is not 1/4” thick. It felt really thin and flimsy, so I took a caliper to it and had a close look. It’s only 13/64”, which is a full 20% less than stated. The top veneer looks nice, but both veneers are paper thin, and the core is a very low-density soft wood. Seems much weaker than a typical sheet of 1/4” birch ply. Not sure if I can even use it as I had intended to at this point.

Good quality product, it would be nice if they made a veneered product on something like pine as well as plywood. Used this to top a desk and I was quite impressed at how well it turned out and how nice it looked when finished. A good quality product at a great price. I would suggest they pack it a little better though, first one I got was damaged badly because it wasn't packed well enough to keep it from damage during shipment. Second one was chipped on corner but since I was going to round it off it didn't matter. Needs better packing, the product itself is quite nicely made.
