Because this sealant is an acrylic-latex (water-based) formula, its sole drying mechanism is the loss of water (evaporation). The most common causes for slow performance development/poor water resistance is generally related to one or a combination of factors such as: damp application surfaces, high humidity and/or deep/thick application. Because you did not provide enough details regarding your attempted application (surface preparation, surface conditions, humidity, joint dimensions, application technique), we are not able to provide you with a more detailed response in this format. The DAP Concrete & Mortar Filler and Sealant is not designed or marketed as a self-leveling product. It is a "gun-grade" formula (thick paste-like texture), accordingly this formula be used for both vertical and horizontal applications, whereas "self-leveling" formulas are only designed and appropriate for use on flat/level horizontal surface application. When self-leveling properties are required, DAP would recommend the use of AMP Advanced Modified Polymer Self-Leveling Concrete and Masonry Sealant. The product you reference is packaged into a cartridge that is labeled "Gray" and clearly displays the color on the application nozzle/tip. Given that there is no industry standard color for "concrete" we attempt to color this item accordingly (light to mid-range tone). If you are dissatisfied with your purchase, the product may be returned to the point of purchase or returned directly to DAP for a refund of your purchase price. Instructions for this process can be found on the product package.
