Horrible knife. I needed to do a bunch of cutting of vinyl plank flooring and wanted something that would be good to grip, so I went with this "higher-end" knife. The blade release mechanism is horrible. I was able to get the first blade in, but could never get it out. The open/close trigger is a pain to work with too. Took it in to HD and they tried and couldn't get it out either. They let me return it and I got the similar Stanley knife and it's way better.

Do not bother with this product. First one needs an engineering degree to find, load and try to put the thing back together. I discovered the blades are stored in the lower part of the handle which opens by pressing on the yellow button up top. Once that is figured out, an allen wrench is needed to unscrew the allen screw and separate the two body sections. When you separate the body the lower part of the handle comes apart and have a good time 1) placing the blades properly so that the blade retracts properly, 2) positioning the lower handle so that the two body parts hold it in and 3) keeping the blade area steady while you're holding the lower body part steady and then trying to insert the allen screw, align the two body parts and screw the knife back together. After about 20 minutes I said to myself "This is absolutely ridiculous to have to go through all this trouble to use a box cutter." Returned the knife to Home Depot and went with a simply Husky. Much happier.

agreeing with others. Blade release switch on side doesn't work, and retracting slide needs a very specific pressure to pull bag. Put pressure down on the button, and the blade locks.

If you're looking for a solid piece non-folding box cutter, this works. For people who cannot figure out how to change the blade, open your eyes and look on the left hand side at the black rectangular release lever. It's not that hard... As to access the storage compartment within the handle, depress the yellow latch on top and push downward then pull out the handle, opening up the blade compartment. It's not rocket science. Yes other blades have a better blade release mechanism, but if you cannot figure out how to release the blade, you've got bigger problems. It's one of two potential end-user buttons. You do not need to unscrew anything.

I agree with all of the other reviews. This is the second knife I've had; I returned the first one and exchanged for the same model because I couldn't figure out how to change the blade. I've just spent an hour trying to change the second one, have researched it on the web and there is No info on this knife. They probably stopped making, well at least I hope so. Now another day wasted on my project because because of this poor quality product (and it wasn't even the cheapest). I wish I would have read these reviews before taking up my day and exchanging it for the same knife. Home Depot, I hope you are not caring this knife anymore.

I was very pleased to buy this utility knife but I too am unable to insert the blade. There are no instructions with the product. I searched the web and finally found out how to access the blade compartment but I can't insert the blade. You all clearly do not care to communicate with customers. I accessed the "wecare" site and could find no way to communicate with a tech.

Knife does not work. Very poorly designed mechanism does not allow easy opperation. Can't easily remove or insert new blade. Blade depth mechanism gets jammed. This is the most expensive box cutter on the shelf that is the least usable of all. DeWalt engineers need to go back to the blackboard and start from scratch.

I received this as a birthday present yesterday. Just like the other two reviews, I cannot figure out how to reassemble both halves of this knife, and I am mechanically inclined.

I cant change blade, need instructions. Plastic handle hold blades but is wiggly

difficult to , change blade, can't get back together, No Instructions. design is good, product sucks!
