I would really love to give this 5 stars, because it does actually work and do exactly what I needed it to, but it has one really weird flaw. When you toggle the On/Off button to go from "On" to "Program" to "Off", it goes in this order: On, Prog, Off, from left to right. Then it reverses and goes Off, Prog, On, from right to left, instead of just starting back over on the left at On again as you would expect. This would be inconsequential, except that when you go from Off to Prog, right to left, the program will not run, even though it's set to Prog. In order to get the program to run, you have to make sure you go left to right from On to Prog. I had to call their support line and go through it with a lamp temporarily connected to it before I realized that's what it was doing, and their support department wasn't even aware of the flaw in programming. I literally thought for hours that the Prog setting wasn't functioning at all. The great things about this timer are: it actually has 7 unique programmable on/off schedules, each able to be programmed for various different weekday/weekend combinations. So you could literally program it to a unique on/off schedule for each day of the week if you needed to. It also has two grounded receptacles, which is rare in a digital programmable timer. We use this timer to control two dehumidifiers that are running in our space to pull moisture out of the air so it doesn't get too humid for our large format drawing printer. The building management turns off the A/C in the building at nights and on the weekends and it gets very humid in the space during the summer, and the humidity damages this expensive printer. But I don't need the dehumidifiers running during the weekdays when the A/C is running, so I got this programmable two outlet timer to turn them on when I need them running and off when I don't

I have had one of these timers for several years and it is still working controlling an indoor lamp. Purchased a second one yesterday to control decorative LED lights on our gazebo even though the package says for indoor use. Unit was charged and ready for initial setup and programming when I removed it from the packaging. I reviewed the written instructions and had the initial setup and programming completed and the timer installed in the gazebo in approximately 15 minutes. Programmed timer with a single program to turn lights ON at Sunset and OFF at 2:00 AM, Monday - Sunday. Lights came ON at Sunset and were OFF when I got up in the morning. I'm hoping that since the timer is not exposed directly to the weather that being outside will not affect its performance. I would have purchased an outdoor timer if I could find one that had the same Sunset/Sunup program feature instead using a photocell. I also reviewed the online video instructions for setup, programming and using the timer and found it very easy to follow.

I needed to replace the heavy duty timer I used for the small oil heater I use in my bathroom during the colder months. This fits the bill. I like the fact that I don't have to add batteries for the backup feature.

I only gave it one star because I couldn't give it ZERO!! I am a handy person and I am really good at reading instructions (just ask my husband).First, I only bought these because I needed to plug in 3 prong plugs. I bought 3 of these for my Christmas lights. Two of them had buttons that matched, one of them had mis-labeled buttons. They forever re-set them selves. they wouldn't allow me to set the sunrise and sunset. I got so frustrated it made my husband laugh out loud. Back to the store they go.

Side mounted plugs are handy and although it is a bit cumbersome to program, I simply keep the instructions with it - big buttons on front help.

I found programming to be annoying, it would fight with me for trying to set manual times. This is not the first digital timer I have owned like this I have 4 others. I will not fight with a simple timer to make it work, either it works or it fights with me. After 10 min of trying to program it I did get 1 manual time set. took me 1 min to reprogram 2 of my other timers. I am going to return this and get another 1 of them.

Worked fine for 3 days, came on when it was supposed to and went off when it was supposed to, right to the minute. Then it just quit, I programmed it again, and it refused to turn on, or off when it should. I'll return it and find something else

I really like this timer. I did not have any trouble programming it to turn outdoor yard lights on for a few hours just after sunset and on again for about an hour just before sunrise. I thought the instructions were clear enough for a device with a lot of options and flexibility.

They gave me a hart time using military discount. I,used it many times in the past. Was told new system. I told him that it was frustrating and that if I had to I will go to their competitors the next time.

Impossible to Program this. Very complicated and I am a technician type person. I am returning it.

Ideal for my needs and dependable product

Programing this timer will drive you nuts. Tried many times and finally threw it in trash. Worst timer I have ever bought.

Setting up time controls are troublesome. With much trial and error I finally figured it out.

its not usable for a normal human being without a university diploma.

More precise and accurate than the dial type

Used it to manage a grow light on/off periods for starting seeds and growing greens indoors. Lettuce sprouted in around 7 days under the light. Worked perfectly

Would not program tried following instruction sheet tried to set year 4 times resetting blank program called up up Home Depot help line waited 30 minutes got a tech the got disconnected. That was it it’s going back to store .

Looks good, works fine once you read all of the directions for programming. Two things make me give less than 5 stars. It has two output receptacles, but there's no way to program them separately, which seems like a no-brainer. The screen is small and the digits even smaller, so I have a hard time seeing it without bending down and getting a flashlight.

I read thru the HUGE instruction sheet several times but was unable to set this timer to simply turn one item on once per day and off once per day, every day. This is the most basic function that any timer should be able to perform. It should not require an 8 minute video to explain how to program a plug-in timer. Returned to store.

Far to hard to set up even for a technical minded person. Directions have tiny print and are confusing. I'm going to return this item.

Works great! Programming is a bit involved.

I purchased this item to switch on interior holiday lights. And I found the input for get the lights "on" and "off" to be more than necessary. And the printed instruction stated that a toothpick should be used to reset the timer. But, the reset button is hidden under the item label. Then the setup/Program steps start and the Time zones and daylight saving time entries was to much for what i needed from the timer....so I returned it. BTW: I set the clock time and the "On" and "Off" times and timer worked the "On" cycle but the "Off" setting did not turn the lights out.

Completely pleased with the product, as advertised.

It was too hard to program.
