Fiberon vs Veranda
I typically use Veranda posts, but Home Depot only had Fiberon, so Monday, May 24th, I’ll give it a try again.
I have used the Fiberon posts, anchors, and jackets once, for mounting in to concrete and found them to be a time consumer, the Veranda posts have a matching 4” square plate for mounting under decks that I use as a template. Fiberon doesn’t. The holes are too small to use 3/8” wedge anchors, so I’m forced to either cut the cheap 6” anchors provided to 3”, (so they don’t snap, and they do) or drilling each hole to 3/8” to use tap cons or wedge anchors.
The railings and post jackets are much superior to Veranda.
But the posts are just a pain to work with.
I’ve been doing vinyl railings part time for a year and a half, and ready to go full time. But not with Fiberon and their posts, unless they can match the ease of install to that of Veranda.
I’m a union tradesman with 30 years, union trained installing aluminum curtain wall on high rise buildings in NYC.

Worked as said it would. I hung trex railing and very sturdy. Make sure there is a wide enough base to attach screws or bolts. Would definitely recommend.

Sturdy product
It's a very sturdy product when installed properly. Following the instructions, I found that all the lag bolts were too short. I had to toss them out and buy longer bolts.

I used 3/8 concrete anchors purchased separately. VERY strong setup...
I used 3/8 concrete anchors purchased separately. VERY strong setup once complete. If the post was 3-4 inches longer it would seem to be more broad in its application but for sure worked in my situation.

The two slide over stabilizers are loose, I have used other posts and they are very firm and stable.
Would not use there again

Thank you for your review and we apologize if the post did not meet expectations. The stabilizers are secured in place using two self-tapping screws included with the kit, and then are additionally secured by the screws attaching the railings to the posts.

Bolts are unnecessarily long and screw that is supposed to hold the plastic spacers were not the correct length. Had to buy different screws

Thank you for your review and for your feedback. However, the bolts are 6 inches in length so they can be secured through the decking surface and 4 inches of blocking underneath for stability. If shorter bolts were used, or less blocking, it may affect the security of the posts.
