This is day 2 using the 12,000 btu portable air unit and so far we are impressed. Vented exhaust to window and tightened cap on drain outlets per manufactured directions for OPTIMAL performance. Moisture now drains through exhaust vent. WE ARE NOT USING A SECOND HOSE when running the air!! This unit is cooling our 12x24 Florida room, which is not well insulated (except roof) and in full sun with outside temp of 86°, and no central air. Sure hope this portable unit continues performing like this in the FL sun and continues to keep our room at 72° when set on medium speed. The noise from fan is not too bad, unit turns off and on. (Do not understand why this unit isn't performing for others! READ directions even if you had a portable unit before as they differ. Allow unit stand upright for several hours before using, we waited 12 hours! Cap all water outlets and allow unit to drain through exhaust.)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the portable a/c about a month ago. It works Great! It kept a 400 sq ft room very cool and comfortable. It's not loud at all. It was very easy to set up too. The wheels make it easy to move when needed. And the remote is a great feature.

This has helped me get to sleep at night without tossing and turning in sweat ! I set it at 72 with the auto setting and it keeps the room which is 30 feet by 15 ft with 12 ft vaulted ceilings nice and cool ! There are so many choices but Frigidaire has been in the cooling business longer than most. I would definitely recommend Frigidaire for all your appliances !

This was a gift or I would have returned it due to frustration trying to vent it. Like another reviewer, I have casement windows and their window kit does not work for casements windows. Anyone want to buy mine? I can't leave the window open since I have a cat. STUPID design! for exhaust. Plastic Adapter "hooks" into back panel, but back panel is angled and it is hard to get my hands around a 5 plus inch adapter to screw it on. If the adapter gets damaged, you are out-of-luck. Hose is 5 inch diameter, which is non standard in the US. Hard to find hose and/or vents at 5 inch diameter. 4 inch dryer vents are readily available. Even 6 inch parts can be found readily, but NOT 5 inch. WHERE is Catalog for spare parts? Attached are 2 pix showing my problems. All that said, the A/C will work for a small room, but expect your Electricity bill to rise significantly. GIven the headaches, I would not buy this myself.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been overall pretty happy with my AC unit. It cools well and for the price was one of the more powerful units. My only problem with it is the display. It is very hard to read the modes. At night it is impossible unless using a flashlight.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this unit a month ago to cool our basement home office that only has glass block windows. I cut the exhaust vent panel to fit in the vent of the glass block window. The unit works amazingly and cools very well!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Been over a 2 years now still blowing cold no draining needed love quietness of the unit and features like the swing arm remote control and able to have auto off on is awesome tells you when filter needs cleaned and cleaning is a breeze just wash it dry it put back on unit is perfect for 300 sqft nice and cold awesome unit

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This machine did a great job removing moisture from the air but I had to empty the system manually instead of the moisture being sent outside automatically through evaporation in the exaust.

It helps eliminate odors with a easy to clean filter we really like that feature because we live in a apartment complex and our neighbors odors ( cooking and smoking )sometimes makes their way into our apartment. It also has a dehumidifier feature and has a drain plug on the back for easy access and draining. Couldn’t be happier with this product.

The unit works okay but I expected more from a 12,000 BTU air conditioner. I like the features and how the vent connects in the window. It does not cool as good as window air conditioners of the same BTU size.

Our house never had central air. To install central air was very expenseve. We purchased the portable Frigidaire AC unit and it did a remarkable job keeping our house cool this summer.It is powerfull yet ran quietly.We are very happy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When air conditioner failed at the begining of this summer's 110+ heat I had to suffer a few weeks with only fans moving air bear the heat. I purchased this portable 10000 btu unit though I was told it wouldn't be enough to cool my space. However, having limited funds and reasonable expectations this unit saved me by reducing the heat to a livable temperature

Just like prior reviews, you really do have to get up close to feel the cool air. I thought purchasing a 12000 BTU air conditioner would be better than an 8000 or 10000 BTU one. I suppose it depends on the brand and the configuration of the vents. Frigidaire needs to go back to the drawing board on this model.

Did the job I expected.

This unit arrived quickly. It was easy to install and fired up right away. Within an hour, our studio apt. was comfortable while it was in the 90s outside.

Returning it. Thought it would work as well as the Frigidare dehumidifier in my basement but really disappointed. Bought the LG same size and it works beautifully so I am getting another LG.
