Excellent unit keeps the room as cold as I want

It has worked so well that we have postponed repairing the house A/C until next year. Even on the hottest summer days it kept whichever room we had it in nice a cool.

Hey Julian, thank you for your review. Here are a few things that you can try that might help. Change the temperature/thermostat setting to drop the temperature lower, turn to a higher Fan Speed using the selector switch or let the appliance run for several hours in order to notice a considerable difference. If the room temperature is very high, the air exiting the unit may not feel cold. Air exiting the unit is usually between 17°-20°F lower than the Intake air, and may not feel cold to the touch until the room temperature is reduced. Hope this is useful!

Works well but hard to install
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This works extremely well and I am so glad I have it. My one complaint is that it is hard to install and de-install, so it takes a lot of time if I want to store it during the day or for days at a time and only take it out when I want to use it. The tube detaches too easily from the window unit and from the unit itself, so when you are adjusting the whole thing to get it in the window, it often comes apart and is very frustrating. But once it's in, it works great!

Feels like more than 12000 BTUs

This unit is a great disappointment

Goodness! Becky38, air exiting the air conditioner is usually between 17°F - 20°F lower than the intake air, and may not feel cold to the touch until the ambient temperature is reduced. If your space is not well insulated, this can account for the environment being hotter as the cool air has no place to “stay” and escapes the area quickly. Great features!

Worked really well when out a/c went out
Bought this as an emergency/temporary replacement when our central air conditioner went out. Kept the family/kitchen just cool enough when the temperature outside was 110. Did better than expected and at least we didn't have to move out. Taking this with us when we move.

Product works well if you keep up on maintainance. Needs to be hooked up so it can properly drain! Creates much more water then you'd expect, about a gallon every 6 hours. Not meant for a living space with many hallways, best for one big room!
Took about 2-3 days too cool down my 485 sq apartment at first.

Great portable

This unit is great good features a lot of settings and cooled the room good considering insulation in room isn't Great. Going to be adding insulation this fall looking forward for next summer. Just perfect!

Easy to move and setup
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought for a "just in case". The noise on high is louder than I thought but bearable. On low, very quite. Much nicer to move than a window unit. Used it for a 24'x16' with vault ceiling it took the edge off. With any smaller room it should be perfect. Don't regret the purchase.

Since this is a portable a/c, it can be moved to other areas of the room (but still close enough to vent outside).
