The Torx type bits won’t strip, and firmly hold the materials together. Only down side was the screws don’t hold tightly in the bits, so the times you need single hand use may result in a number of dropped screws. I tried 3 different brands of drive bits with the same result.

worked fairly well with cedar, but less effective with treated pine -- even after drilling pilot holes. the enclosed bit worked ok for about an hour and then required to use a new bit.

I wax very happy with the screw and the ability to sink them in the wood. I would just note that if you purchase the go with the 10 lbs. it is only $29 compared to $24 for a 5 lbs box
