Old Hunter 3/4 inch PGV-075-ASV
No cutting, digging, etc. I believe I had an Old Hunter 3/4 inch PGV-075-ASV. The labels on the valve said so but who knows what modifications have been made. Anyhow that is what i searched for and bought. Got the part and was disappointed. It was a different shape. Used the internals. That worked for a short time. Went back to the drawing board. Searched old hunter valve and saw this version. Used the top, internals, solenoid. Use the old screws. It works great so far.

    valves working as intended now!
Our system that's 19 years old stopped working correctly. Some valves wouldn't open on random days when the controller was operating it's normal morning cycle. We replaced all 6 valves in our system last week & the system functions properly now! I can now select any specific valve to run additional time in our front or back lawn. I'm so happy & we did 6 of them at the same time last week & they all work well. We'll see how long these Hunter valves will work properly. Our house was 16 years old when we bought our home & now after 3 years of sporadic operation the system is working as intended & I'm so happy. It's a love/hate relationship with this darn sprinkler system. Lol. The company that winterize it are constantly saying Rain Bird are better quality components but were now stuck with Hunter since our 6 valve system was already installed when we bought this 16 year old home but it's working well now. Fingers crossed it lasts.

It was easy to put by using 2 unions and some PVC glue, it took me a couple hours to do it because I had to dig and cut but at the end perfect. Now my sprinklers don't leak with this hunter valve.

An exact replacement for the valve that failed at a reasonable cost.. Simple install if you leave the old valve body in place and replace the internal mechanism with the one from the new valve.

      Basic Irrigation Valve
A basic flow valve for irrigation. I've owned the same valve for 5 years and it has now failed. The housing itself somehow developed a pinhole leak which I didn't think was possible. The housing is good quality and thick to prevent such a failure. This could have been caused by many factors considering how old the unit is.

This is an easy fix valve if your sprinkle system uses this valve. You do not have to replace the entire valve, just remove the top of your old valve and install the top of the new valve in its place. Be sure to change out the white ring and make sure the gasket is in line with the small nipple on one side. (you will see this when you open it) You may need to use old screws as a very old valve has short screws and a new valve has long screws.

I needed to replace my existing Hunter valve that was leaking 24/7. I’m so glad Hunter hasn’t changed the design of this valve. I was able to screw off the top of the old one and swap out the new top without having to dig up the valve box and all the connections. 10 min repair, no more leaks and back in business. Thanks Hunter!

Very Difficult to Remove screws replace diaphragm.
I was trying to replace the diaphragm. The screws were almost impossible to remove and were impossible to screw back in. The well expert I spoke with said this is very common. So now I have to replace the entire valve.
