Just as advertised, fairly easy installation, depending on your construction of the garage. Was necessary for proper installation in my garage , to keep it away from where I intended it. By placing 2x4 spacers between the rafters for securing. The adjustment for heights is a big plus. I highly recommend this ceiling mounted storage unit. I put in two and now have a more roomy garage.

After two years, a bolt gave out sending our storage boxes (which contained life jackets and holiday decorations well under the recommended weight limit) tumbling down. We are lucky in that no one was standing under it at the time and that the damage to our car was minimal. After this happened, I checked for recall notices and read this comment section to find that more people have issues with the quality of the bolts. Do not use the bolts provided with this product.

First off, there are a ton of parts on this thing, and they all look alike. So be careful when separating the parts into piles. Get organized. Second, just throw away all the hardware and buy new hardware from Home Depot. Most of the lag screws broke even though I was careful to predrill holes and use a manual ratchet to tighten. Finally, I found the customer service to be acceptable. They sent a new set of hardware. (ground shipping), but it also was junk so I tossed it. Questionable warranty.

First off, as many have stated the instructions are horrendous to follow. Pictures shown one thing and the description says another. My package came with extra parts that are not listed on the instructions at all. Call support and got no where. For something hanging over your head, you'd think someone like Husky would care.

As with other reviews I had a few bolts snap, thankfully they provided extras. I have an older house and finding solid joists that fit the dimensions we tough, I had to go up into the attic and reinforce to make it work. Installation was harder than other overhead ceiling storage I’ve done before, but with that said this is by far the most sturdy and best looking one I’ve done. Once installed it was worth it. Even with all that said I’d recommend it. Solid product.

I bought two of these to install over my garage door. The first one took some trial and error as the instructions weren’t the most clear but once we figured it out the second one took almost no time at all. They’ve been installed for a few days now and w haven’t put anything up there to store yet but I will update once we do. We have two lag bolts in each bracket which seem secure enough. I installed at twenty four inches so there’s a little sway since there’s only one support instead of two.

Im very happy with the quality of the product. But, man the instructions are awful. The ink on both units manuals was crazily light and hard to read, and the pictures were just short of useless. Once I got the first one together the second was a breeze, but you really want to look at the product pictures online while you go. And be aware the picture online has the ceiling brackets facing each other, when you want them to actually face the same direction. But yes, super sturdy, looks nice, no chips or scratches anywhere. I'd 100% recommend but be prepared to scratch your head a bit trying to figure out the assembly. (And the hardware comes in a single large bag, there are about 100 washers, 8 of which are slightly larger for the mounting bolts, good luck finding them)

Pros: - Ability to adjust the size (both W and H) is great, though you'll end up with extra parts if you don't do the full 96" - Sturdily built; parts all fit together well and holes lined up neatly - Even a novice could install this Cons: - As MANY others mentioned, lag bolts are not of the best quality. I sheared one (installing with an impact driver with a socket fitting), so I had to run to the store to grab a new bolt (I grabbed four, just in case) - Instructions are not well written

I didn’t even install it. I got the ceiling brackets in place and they had decent sized lag bolts. But they expect you attach the rack arms with a small bolt through the edge of some thin metal. NO WAY am I trusting that to hold anything.

Directions were a bit vague in places, but easily assembled

I love these racks. However, the qty 48, 1/4-20 x 3/4" hex bolts are complete junk. Warm butter has more strength than those bolts. I snapped at least 6 during the assembly, just using a 6 inch wrench and a racket with a 6 inch handle. Just to be sure it was not just my malfunction, I asked my 100lb daughter to tighten one. She also snapped the bolt. She did use most of her strength, but it only took 10 seconds or so before snapping. Fortunately they give you lots of extra bolts.

This was pretty straight forward as advertised. The only issue was every connection had multiple bolts except where it attaches to the stud mount. I bought a 4 pack of grade 8 bolts and used them.

I saw reviews of bad hardware and falling shelves, in my opinion it’s how it’s installed. I would recommend these , if done correctly they will last

I bought this for the husky quality, but should have payed closer attention to the reviews about the bolts shearing. I havent even installed it yet because I sheared one of the bolts just tightening it by hand. Additionally, the holes on the brackets that hang down don't line up making it impossible to but a bolt through at the ends as instructed & instead had to put the bolts much closeer together. Pretty dissapointed since I paid more for what I thought was a better brand and quality product.

The rack would of been easier to install if a template was available; however, it turned out okay. I will be buying a couple more.

I had it with maybe 300 lbs of stuff mostly light camping gear. bolt sheared and almost severely damaged a vehicle.

I had a smaller one in my old garage .it was great.this one all the lag bolts used to secure to ceiling broke . HD says no replacement parts must return whole item. sux because it is big and it was delivered by truck.

Ordered this product online from home depot. Everything showed up in the box as it should, and no damage to anything. Spent 6hrs trying to get everything correct on the install. Finally got everything hung in place, and realized the wire racks didn't fit correctly. Didn't let it bother me to bad, but upon further review, I realized something else was causing the issue. The unit was hanging funny from the ceiling mounts, and somethings just looked off. I loosened all the mounting bolts, to see if something was bound up. That didn't do anything to solve the issue. After an hour of messing with it, and I had already spent 4 hrs doing the install (finding the correct stud spacing in a finished garage is tought) I decided to measure the side rails. BAM I found the issue. One of the side rails is built an inch longer than the other. It throws everything off. Makes the mounts look twisted, the metal racks fit horrible. Thought maybe I had built it wrong, but there is no other way to assemble it. Super frustrating to spend all this time on the install, just to have the product be defective. Threw the box away.... time to deal with home depot and the manufacturer

Easy to put together just need another person but it was done in 4-6 hours. Very easy

bought these for my sons garage hung 2 shelves with a friend took about 3 1/2 hours first one took a little time but second one went easy

Pretty solid so far.

After 2 years the frame fell on my car, destroying the windshield and damaging the roof. The bolt in the stud sheared in half (see image). Husky claims I used the wrong bolt and will not refund the item or reimburse for damage, since its "my fault".

Bought this garage rack to store my halloween and christmas decoration. I was able to set it up by myself(2 1/2 hours) but i highly recomend to have another person. I will definitely buy another one in a few weeks.

This storage unit is as described on the website. Not too difficult to install either. I like the idea of being able to store items off the ground because I have two cars to fit into my garage, I went with the the eight foot unit since I had the space available in my garage. I have an eight and half foot ceiling in my garage which helps because the lower frame is about 29 inches from the ceiling.

Had to redo the corner drop downs as i did for parallel vs perpendicular. Also, had to extend them a bit to get the side braces to slide in. So, pretty easy to put together! No issues with the lag bolts breaking. We really like how much it holds and how much we cleared up our garage floor! Recommend this, for sure!
