A: as long as you understand the process of drilling into concrete, the type of anchors you will need, etc., of course you can secure this rack, and probably much stronger than securing into any wooden ceiling joist. Go for it!
A: The manufacturer does not specify mounting to any material other than wood studs. Contact them for guidance. www.gladiatorgarageworks.com. In the USA, call 1-866-342-4089 Mike
A: Hello Bobby, it is possible to installed it on a vaulted/sloped ceiling. However, it may not be completely leveling due to the ceiling brackets.
A: 2 people minimum are needed for safe installation.
A: I needed a little help at the end. Hooking up the base.
A: Hello Jaybone, two or more people is needed to install the OverHead GearLoft shelf.
A: Need at least two people to make it easier
A: Yes but you will need to think it through. You will need to find studs then layout your screw pattern. I used clamps to hold parts Together while assembling.
A: The two I have installed in my garage are still there despite the load of stuff that are on them. Follow the instructions and you should be fine. The majority of the load from the above bedroom is going down the walls while the rest is evenly distributed across the joists.
A: Yes, if installed according to the instructions. You must ensure that the anchor bolts securing the horizontal mounting brackets are driven into the center of the ceiling/floor joists. You cannot use any type of drywall anchor or toggle bolt. Best way to locate center of ceiling/floor joists is by using a good quality stud finder.
A: Hello CWebb, if the ceiling joist of your garage are 4 inches height or more (2" x 4" boards) and they are 16" apart on center. It will support 750 pounds.
A: Yep, screw its into studs
A: The brackets on top of the shelf has to screw into the studs that are holding up the sheetrock in your garage, as well as supporting the floor above your garage. All you need to do is determine is the direction of your studs and you're in business. If you're struggling to figure out how to mount these shelves, hire a company to put in the first one, then copy them. They are not that expensive! BTW, unless you are storing barbells and weights on your shelves, 750 lbs. seems a little excessive. But just remember, every support bolt must screw into a stud in the ceiling joists.
